Attention to the detail with regards to our room, the building, Customer Service and our hosts. Great breakfast and beautiful establishment. We stayed here prior to going to Lundy Island on 9th July. We would definitely stay hereagain if we return to Ilfracombe.

We had a 3 night stay here while attending a wedding at Tunnels. The hotel was of a fantastic standard and very well put together. Fantastic location, plenty of delicious breakfast options and wonderful hosts. We would highly recommend staying here.

The Devonian is a stunning, extremely comfortable guest house. Piper & Terence’s attention to detail is exceptional. From the beautifully decorated rooms to complimentary bath robes, to use during your stay, it rivals any 5 star experience. Breakfast was simply fabulous.

Absolutely lovely stay. Spotlessly clean, outstanding in every way. Attention to detail superb. On site parking, easy walk to town, lovely gardens, exceedingly comfortable room. Everything you need for a short stay We stayed for a running event Lundy and didn't realise how early we had to leave but we were still provided with a lovely breakfast which was really appreciated and beyond what was expected at that time of day! Would highly recommend and will return

The location was convenient, the room was decorated beautifully with a lovely view. It was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. There was absolutly anything not to like about The Devonian.

This little hidden gem is just amazing. The hosts Terrence & Piper are just the best hosts, They welcome you into their beautiful home and make you feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. The facilities they offer are great. An espresso machine in the room was an absolute bonus. Along with a fantastic choice of tea. Breakfast at the Devonian was just wonderful the choice is plentiful. Vegan options also available.Myself and my husband would highly recommend a stay at this wonderful place.

Nothing could have been better apart from the road closure which was obviously nothing at all to do with The Devonian.

Terence & Piper are amazing hosts. They gave us prior warning of a road closure which would make the walk into Ilfracombe longer and even offered us the chance to cancel if we wanted.They then arranged an early check in when requested which was very kind of them . Their communication beforehand and their hosting while we were there was excellent. You are made very welcome and they go out of their way to provide anything you could possibly need. Our room was beautifully decorated and beautifully clean with a very comfy bed and excellent pillows.In fact the whole place is beautiful including a large garden with lots of lovely seating areas. Cooked Breakfast was pre ordered the night before and Cereals,Fruit,Nuts,Yogurt,Pastries were all made available on the table. I wish we had been able to stay longer and would most definitely stay again ! A big Thank you to Terence and Piper for your hospitality.

The Devonian was exceptional, outstanding! a hidden gem. Perfect for a great holiday or a wedding at the tunnel’s beach. Terence and Piper were amazing hosts where nothing was too much trouble. With many hidden extras that were totally unexpected! We stayed in the Deep Adam green room which was excellent. Gorgeous views of the garden and about the bar which shut at 9:30pm so no chance of being disturbed with any noise. They had thought of everything in the room. Kettle, coffee maker, Biscuits with so much choice of tea, squash, Hot chocolate even lower cal options! They even had a trugg for you to borrow to bring your wet kit back up from the beach and many other thoughtful touches. Like a wet shoe tray in the room. All the rooms downstairs had their own quirkiness with unusual things around the property and memorabilia on loads of the walls which added to the character of the over 100 year old property. The very high ceiling added to the open feel of the place with some thing great everywhere you looked! Lots of unexpected extras like the smallest cinema in Ilfracombe a six sitter with all the extras like drinks and popcorn 🍿 provided for a nominal fee. The well equipped gym and Sauna complete with towels, robes along with toilets and showers! Everything was immaculate as if it had just been decorated and fitted. Terence and piper have spend the last 3 1/2 years perfecting the place and that’s just what it is! Perfect ! The worst thing about the property is you have to leave!! wishing you booked longer to be able to use all the facilities!!
