Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location is pretty remote. It’s only a few minutes walk from a bus stop, and it’s a beautiful area, and it’s very peaceful at night which is a plus over city hostels, it’s just not the center of the action
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, it has great facilities, and it’s a nice area if you’re looking for something off the beaten path and away from the crowded cities

United KingdomThere are no windows in the room. You share a toilet and shower with four other rooms so you have to wait at busy times and other residents can be noisy in the shared hallway.
This is a very cheap room and it is perfectly fine. It is a small room and it warm and comfortable. There is a shared kitchen too so you could microwave yourself a meal or make a pot noodle etc. It is very close to the Hollyhead to Dublin ferry terminal for walk-on passengers. It is an easy walk into town.

United KingdomA bit concerned with the door to the room, stiff and very difficult to lock, from outside I don't think I was able to lock it properly, so didn't stay out long when I went for a walk to find something for dinner. Closing it from the inside, the door needs a good pull, I think I knocked out my Digital TV reception one of these times. From the inside you can see the lock misaligns. All the doors seemed stiff, could hear people struggling with bathroom door, there is a moment where you wonder if you will get out! Also the room next to mine. Electrics, the socket for the TV aerial was hanging off the wall, also the adapter uses for the kettle seemed faulty, the kettle didn't work. The staff man came to sort, but just swapped to the other socket, the kettle did then work. But, I think the lamp bulb shorted because of it! Slightly worrying fire safety wise. Kettle is very near bed too, was a bit concerned knock it off, maybe would be better where the TV is. A little fold down table, and chair may be useful in kitchen, otherwise eating in bedroom.
The room was fine, it's the smallest single I think, and no window, which could be a bit claustrophobic for some. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom was shared, but spacious and clean. There is a small kitchen area, with microwave, mini cooker and fridge. This was useful.

GermanyThe room has no window and you can hear everything. For me, it was okay, but I would not recommend it to people with a light sleep.
I just stayed there for one night to take the ferry to Dublin. It is very close to the train station and the port. It is a small room and has everything one needs. The owner was very nice.

United KingdomThere are various rooma in this establishment, but they are all listed on booking.com as separate establishments. This confuses thinga especially when pictures of rooms are mixed up. I was in single room marked woth number 3 on the door, and it had 1 window facing the back. You need to contact the owner for check in. Small light did not work in the room. Wifi password was indicated on a framed paper by the stairs. No shower gel/shampoo on the bathroom
Simple single room with shared bathroom, as described. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean Very close to the station and the bus stop, which I needed There is a shared kitchenette

United KingdomHaving to wake the owner up so I could leave. He looked exhausted he also runs a taxi so he is probably working long hours. If he could arrange for a spare key so early starters could depart without disturbing him I sure it would help his rest
it was excellent value. Arriving late evening the manager/owner was helpful. The location being close to railway station was a big plus. Having a safe secure place to store my bike was reassuring. If you are on a tight budget, and on a cycle it is great place to stay

United KingdomThe bathroom is shared, not private. This wasn't made clear in the listing. Room 2 has no window, and was extremely hot, even with the radiator turned off. No fresh air. The gaps in the door meant the hallway light lit up the room when the lights were off. Only one thin pillow on the bed. The room is tiny!
