The little extras Hot chocolate, as well as branded Tea & Coffee. Nice milk NOT in the annoying plastic pots. Unexpected robes and slippers too. Amazing pool. Was quiet as went for a swim when others were at breakfast. Outstanding view from the window. Had some spa treatments. So lovely. Left relaxed and ready to face a new week.

Had to pay for car park. Spa facilities were dirty Had to pay extra for certain hot drinks for breakfast even though I had paid extra for breakfast anyway. Food was expensive for what you get. Noisy with kids staying there.

Views were amazing, hotel was so clean and very well kept, and the staff went above and beyond to make you feel so welcome and safe, we only stayed 1 night as it was a spontaneous visit but when we get home we shall be booking again for later in the year

The indoor play area right next to the dining room. Limited lunch menu. Confusing billing, especially if paid in advance.

The swimming pool, cinema and outdoor play area are great! Most staff being very understanding and accepting of additional needs and dietary requirements.

We booked for a special occasion for our children. The staff went out of their way to make their trip one to remember. From personalised cards from Santa to the reception staff pretending the booking was from Santa. The facilities and care for children is exceptional and we can’t wait to book again!

Noise, unclean, doors only closed by slamming, unable to use restaurant, dirty crockery and glasses not cleared, tables not wiped, no heating in bar area, tiny lift. More like a motel than hotel & definitely not earning the 4 stars as rated!

Being moved from one room to another, after check in due to a mistake by the hotel staff & being asked to go immediately back to do this. We were away from the hotel & on our way to dinner in another restaurant, so to do this was a real inconvenience, making us late for our dinner reservation & ending up with a much smaller, less comfortable room!

I’ve been coming to Newquay for years and have stayed at the Esplanade before but it’s gotten so run down. My real concern is the hygiene. The pool area was very shocking I walked right back to my room and couldn’t dare go in. The pool was so cloudy (I really do hope it’s not what I assume and it actually gets cleaned - with kids swimming, it should!) and there’s been a strong smell around there for a long time I assume would have been sorted by now. The photos are just moulds I noticed in the bathroom and crumbs of food on the floor upon my arrival. You have a great location with good sized rooms, just get it cleaned and maintained well. And do something about your menu, with lovely fish spots on the beach, you have some competition to live up to.

The view is amazing but the hotel is so dated now.
