Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe food in the hotel was disappointing. However, there are 2 other hotels with good restaurants an easy walk away. Location-wise this is quite a long way from the centre of town but a pleasant 30 minute walk if you are happy to do this.
Excellent family hotel. Very welcoming and our family room was the perfect size, comfortable and modern. The pool area was excellent, the pool tables and soft play an added bonus. Pleasant lounge and dining room areas and being able to access the surf hire shop from the hotel was great! The staff, particularly Callista on front of house were friendly and extremely helpful. The location next to the beach is lovely.

IrelandThe breakfast was extremely and unnecessarily expensive . I travel a lot and this is one of the most expensive breakfast I have come across. We ate breakfast once in the hotel which was good but nothing special for the price and so we went out for breakfast and had it locally other days and found great places. The pool area was lovely however the pool water was colder than expected for an indoor pool. Cornwall has a huge love for dogs from what we could see as they are allowed in restaurants, pubs , shops etc., . We love dogs ourselves however they were everywhere and loads staying in the hotel , not a deal breaker for us as they all were very well behaved but not everyone's cup of tea!
The hotel was fantastic! It worked wonderfully for us in terms of facilities, location etc., Everything was very easy. The staff where extremely nice and very helpful. The hotel was very clean and bedrooms where very nice. We had a lovely sea view. Dinner was lovely , we ate at the hotel restaurant twice. The cinema was excellent bonus for the kids and the milk and cookies in the evening where a wonderful touch of detail for the kids. We will definitely be back as a family but would like to see a few things just looked at i.e. breakfast very expensive.

United Kingdom- reception area were allowed dogs in. However I witnessed one of the guests let his dog jump on the sofas where people sat and staff allowed this. Put me off sitting on the furniture then. Maybe provide throws? There were also a couple of occasions we could smell the horrible doggy smell too in reception. - if you had a dog, you were allowed to eat in the reception area. If you didn’t have a dog, you weren’t allowed to eat there. The reason given to us for this: because dogs aren’t allowed in the restaurant so those with dogs are allowed to eat in reception. Very stupid and petty rule as staff refused to let us eat in the chilled out comfy part of the hotel because we had no dog, all while another dog owner was there being served food.
- little touches for children in the room. - facilities for children. These had really been thought through. - decor was lovely. - the pool. - staff were really lovely, friendly and helpful. - rooms, areas in the hotel were spacious. - right next to the beach.

New ZealandBreakfast and drinks a bit expensive, £25 a head for breakfast; we ate elsewhere and it cost £25 for two meals, coffee and a frappe. Bedroom doors were very loud closers, they slammed shut loudly and were being slammed all evening and early in the morning so not very restful. It was the start of half term so kids were just hooning up and down the corridor and the pool was rammed. The spa was pretty small and looked quite grey with the amount of people that were in and out. Not dealbreakers but just be aware if you want peace and quiet you might want the sister hotel that’s adults only.
They had thought of everything, nice toiletries, teas, biscuits, bathrobes, slippers. It’s worth upgrading to a seaview room as the vista is amazing. Very family friendly with a pool, jacuzzi, sauna, pool tables, kids play areas and an actual cinema room which I’d never seen before in a hotel. Food in the restaurant was vey nice too. Good value for the rooms.

IrelandBreakfast was disappointing, very expensive for a very basic breakfast. No pastries, toast or orange juice even left at 10 on Sunday. The breakfast main is also basic. Having paid £25 each we expected a lot better.
Nice hotel with great families facilities. Good staff. Location at beach but can still reach town easy (20 min walk) by foot or taxi.
