That we couldn't stay longer and it was time for us to leave.

The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. The room was amazing, comfortable, lovely furnishings and finishing touches. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the food & service excellent - dinner and breakfast. We will definitely return and would recommend highly.

Like many pubs and dog friendly hotels there is an overnight charge for having a dog in the room Personally I think £20 per night is a bit heavy

Nothing really, but if being picky bathroom floor could do with re tiling in room we stayed in, wi fi not good, but didn’t bother us for 1 night

We thought the restaurant was very expensive. A steak, as example was £25+. The plate look terrible with just the steak and zero extras like a tomato or onion ring or mushroom. It was served with a portion of chips. Other items on the menu were also poorly presented and overpriced.

The rooms were fabulous with lots of little nice touches.

A beautifully furnished pub with rooms. The decoration and bedding gives a luxurious feel. Not the largest rooms but in keeping with the traditional buildings. The food in the restaurant for dinner was excellent.

Lovely room, fantastic staff, impeccable service, brilliant food evening meal and breakfast. Reasonable price and a nice distance from some nice scenery too. Absolutely faultless. Loved the sloe gin on arrival too. Great touch.

Electric chargers were out of service. Check in and out took much longer than it needed to. The road noise was very loud at points.

Lovely find and perfect for a stop over before departing from Southampton dock. Venue beautiful, clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Room was lovely and very well decorated. Definitely will visit again. Outdoor seating area is lovely.

The food both in the evening and the included breakfast was excellent. EV charger was a bonus.

There's nothing we don't like

I like everything about hare and hounds. The rooms are so quirky, the walk in showers are brill and the food is exceptional. This was our 3rd time here, we always go with a group of friends and our stay is for the newbury races

We had evening meal as well as breakfast and found the staff excellent, for the evening l asked for a cheese boerd which they didn’t do but the young man went and checked and said that they could do two cheeses and some Melba toast which was great , 😊😊
