The stairs were a little steep but that’s nothing that can be helped, still a wonderful stay and would highly recommend!

Was clean and had a lot of facilities and things to use in the room which was extremely helpful. Best sleep I have had while staying away somewhere. Would definitely stay here again.

Room cosy but very small with double bed to wall meaning the person by the wall could not exit the bed without disturbing the other. Only one chair for two. That said, it worked out absolutely fine.

Nothing. It was exactly as described. It is indeed very small, so if you want to chill in it during the day it is may too small for 2 people.

Small but very nice place for a short stay. Good for exploring the city or staying over before taking a ferry at Harwich. Would stay again if I need to travel in Colchester again

The stairs are very narrow. If you are on first floor it might be tricky to go up with a luggage.

As with all small rooms, a deep clean is occasionally needed. There was a family with a small child upstairs that you could hear running around. It wasn’t too bad but would get annoying if it went on for longer.

Great location. Very close to the train station and a short walk into town. A parking space outside. Pet friendly.

I can not think of any think negatives.

We found the bed very comfortable, the bathroom was very large and very clean, the only comment I would make is one of the sinks drain hole was a bit rusty and took the look away from the otherwise superb bathroom.the over all family room was better then we expected, large and not crowded, the drinks in the fridge was a very welcoming touch. You had all that was needed , iron and board, fan and heater , plenty of space to hang your things up. Tea coffee sugar ,milk and even some biscuits. We thought the price was very very good for all that was provided. We did not expect to see any body as it was self checking which we found very easy but we spoke to a young man who was very helpful, house keeping came and she was very helpful as well. If we are ever down to Colchester the Railway Sleeper would be the one we would book into.

The room is tiny, but it's got everything you might need: iron and ironing board, tiny fold out table and chair, minifridge, microwave, kettle and teabags/coffee. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious.

Property seems to be little bit to narrow when arriving four adults.

Rooms was clean and tidy, car park available. Facilities clean and ready for use.

I was not in love with the price, although I guess it could have been worse.

Everything was clean and comfy. There were complimentary drinks in a fridge and a fan in the room. It was all my parents needed for the night.

The fridge was noisy and kept me awake. The bed base was grubby and could do with replacing or having a valance sheet covering it and the pink net curtains are very tacky.

It was functional and close to the city centre with off road parking and value for money.

You could have a cab service from the station to the lodge 😁 I'm joking. Off the top of my head I can't think of anything.

The room was actually bigger than I expected, hygiene was very high. I've never stayed in a self check-in before, but I liked how it works. The facilities were good, almost home away from home and the privacy was welcomed. Also the proximity to the Colchester train station is excellent.
