Tea only with teabags in a cup. A proper teapot for breakfast would have been nice and expected in a country pub inn

Very good breakfast Excellent dinner Nice and efficient service Amazing location and settings

    Nothing!

This was a wonderful stay in the perfect location. Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 4 days in January and we had a wonderful time. The staff are lovely and give the place a homely feel. Our room was spacious and the bed was heavenly! We brought our dog, Bella, who also enjoyed the hotel very much. Would definitely come back!

Power went off to the building, not their fault but couldn't have dinner there. Was told best to cancel it as it won't be on until after 7. Had to eat elsewhere, and power came on before 7.. Noisy music from below until 10 ish ..

    Fantastic location, quiet and relaxing.

The room was with two single beds put together, which meant there was a little gap in the middle, rather than a regular double bed. Just a little uncomfortable.

The room was lovely, the staff were great with a mistake I made with the booking, and generally very helpful.

Unfortunately the room was next to the ladies toilets, you could hear activity in the evening. There was also a pungent smell in the bathroom, which was quite overpowering. (The proprietor was informed the following morning, probably the shower drain) The disabled bathroom sink was of course very low with a shelf above making it difficult to use, Maybe moving the shelf to a different position would help. Breakfast was included, but did not start until 8am, to late for me, so would have liked to have been offered an alternative to take away.

Dinner was good and the menu was different and a pleasure to choose from, not showing what has become a standard fayre. I was travelling with a pet and there were ample footpaths for a walk. She was allowed into the public areas. I had to miss breakfast, so cannot comment. The ground floor room was of ample size and the second door helped block the noise from comings and goings from the pub entrance. The bathroom, more a wet room was huge for disabled access.. Not sure how they might maneuver in the bedroom! Liked the added macaroons in a jar, instead of standard biscuits. Large public carpark next door, which was free to residence, once booked in.

Check in confusion, payment wanted upfront was a bit odd, normally payment is taken after (particularly when they had my card details via booking.com and wanted full payment there and then. Then there was some confusion as to whether we had pre-paid or not- I ended up paying at the hotel the full amount upfront via my card directly, but staff advised that If I am charged again via booking.com, I can call them for a full refund.... so waiting to see what happens.

Great food, attentive staff and lovely room. Bed was so comfy it was a dream, location was quiet and rural, just what we wanted.

Not enough for vegans here to eat. The location was difficult in relation to the town (unless you don't mind a £15-20 taxi each way)

There is a friendly dog, Griffindor, running around and making friends. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is well made and high standards The bathroom was lovely, the room warm and the bed comfortable.

During the night I had to turn the radiator down, it was on full belt 🥵

Loved the little hamlet, scenery and the walks. Beautiful setting. Food was great, the little bar was lovely on an evening with log fire. We felt quite comfortable sitting here with our son playing top trumps! Bed was huge, I was worried it wouldn’t fit 2 adults and an 8 year old but there was plenty space. We were really pleased overall, given how well priced the stay was in all.

The bed, although comfortable on each side, the split down the middle became uncomfortable as the mattresses moved apart. The shower head could do with replacing.

We loved our stay, the staff were friendly, the food was good and location perfect. Will definitely return in the summer.
