A great place with a good atmosphere, the staff were pleasent and efficient. The whole place has been developed to a extremely high standard. Our room very comfortable, and furnished to a high standard. The breakfast was exceptional.

No shelf or rack in the shower to hold toiletries, soap, shampoo etc. Would have liked to have known the policy for booking a breakfast time, in advance, as we thought it was always available during the stated opening times. Green safety light was a necessary evil.

Clean and excellently appointed. Location was ideal for the purpose of our trip. Small light on the bathroom mirror was excellent for those of us who frequent the bathroom during the night. Excellent cooked breakfast.

Brusque and inconsistent treatment at the evening. Nowhere for hotel guests to not be treated like pub guests. Jostled out at end of meal and told to take drinks with us to our room! Food in the restaurant was a bit hit and miss, and took a long time coming. One disappointing meal, one enjoyable one.

Clean, comfortable, good value for money. Warm welcome on arrival. Breakfast and dinner waitress helpful and charming.

For being on a roundabout on a fairly busy road it was pretty quiet. Other guests were heard going to bed with doors closing which is common in most hotels. Staff, food, ambience, setting everything was FAB!!

Breakfast was inordinately delayed even though we were the only ones at the restaurant and the first. Ordered a croissant and porridge and it did not arrive. We had to leave and had to take away just the croissant to eat in the car.

Comfortable rooms. Ample parking. Staff were courteous and helpful.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The bed was comfy. The breakfast was really good with plenty of choice of freshly cooked food. We chose to eat there in the evening and the menu was varied and all food was really well presented. We enjoyed our stay.

The Roman blind was broken in the room it was literally tied up with string We had no cups in the room to make coffee our friends next door had cups & biscuits Also the light on the ceilings in the bathroom wasn’t working so it was impossible to do make up in there and we were going to a party that evening There was also no iron or ironing board We went out to friends for the evening and came back after midnight we couldn’t get in I was knocking on the front door in heavy rain and was totally ignored by the bar staff who could clearly see me Until my husband said he thinks we can get in around the back no one told us this when we checked in which was annoying Very strict on check out time we were asked to come for breakfast at 9.30 at the latest when it was meant to be on until 10am and were asked to check out before breakfast at 9.30 so the rooms could be cleaned Breakfast was gorgeous and plentiful Coffee not so good Service 100%

Gorgeous decor throughout in the bar area and rooms .. rooms were small but beautifully decorated and spotless clean We had snacks and drinks in the bar on a very busy Saturday it was lovely

Absolutely nothing

I want to thank Julie on a personal basis. My reason for visit was to see UB40 at the Telford Arena. Julie took me to the arena and picked me after the concert finished. Great time at the bar when we returned . I would highly recommend the Ugly Duckling to anyone visiting the beautiful county of Shropshire. Bed at 02.30 but what the hell - we had a great night. Thx too to the couple from Peckham I met at the bar (Del boy land). Young lady at reception in the morning so helpful - booked my taxi to Wellington. Hope Julie can make it to Cardiff one day? We going for lunch at Ty Madeira. A sincere thank you to everyone at The Ugly Duckling . Please take care good care and enjoy your life. Love Wayne 🌹🌹

I would have liked a shower mat as the shower was far to slippy when wet but then l am elderly.The handrail on the escape stairs we used was not clean.
