Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.

United StatesTotal lack of functioning guest wifi despite multiple non-guest networks, shower on floor is out of order, line to use toilet and unfortunately one or two guests making a fair amount of late night noise. 24/room so that goes with the odds. Really the Wi-Fi failure is driving the review.
Fantastic staff, solid community. Great location. I didn’t mind the train noise/rumble at all. Points for staff.

As soon as myself and my brother walked in we were immediately welcomed by Paul. As we had checked in on line he just asked our names and it was as easy as that. We had arrived early so Paul took our bags and stored them for us. Bag free we were able to go get food from the street vendors in the same street. We took a seat outside and had a beer from The Walrus bar, it was reasonably priced and delicious. I would recommend the Hostel and the Greek street food 😋 It is so nice to stay in a place that makes it feel homely. Well done to all the staff at The Walrus, it's run very well. 👏

AustraliaThe rooms were a little loud due to being next to the train station, but the Windows were super noise cancelling if everyone in the dorm was okay to close them.
The breakfast was so nice and easy to wake up to each day to help us start the day! Just £2.50 and you got to eat as much as you like. The location was great too because it was a short walk to the centre of town or there were bus and train options right outside.

United KingdomI didn’t stay with friends so I could sleep a little later but unfortunately they decided to work on the toilet cubical next to where I was sleeping with drilling/ hammering through the paper thin wall from 9am.
great location- pretty basic but you get what you pay for to a certain extent. I had a window right over the railway which I actually enjoyed- the trains have to slow as they go in and out of the station so the noise isn’t too bad.

United KingdomThe hostel is adjacent to Waterloo train station, which means you will think the trains are inside the room. The noise from trains is absolutely awful. The number of toilets, sinks and showers are way below the needed to attend the amount of people, common are with only 4 seats and small in general, Some beds are next to radatiors (as in the bed actually touches the entire radiator). No cleaning staff to keep it clean as it gets used.
Just a few blocks to Big Ben, London Eye etc..

CroatiaNot to exaggerate, I believe that 5 out of 10 is a realistic rating for this facility. Unfortunately, the big minus is that they stated that breakfast is free, and when we got there they told us that they don't serve breakfast at all. Another thing is that we didn't get towels at all, so we didn't have anything to dry ourselves with after the shower, and "luckily" there was no hot water at all, so we didn't need them.
The room was quite decent, and the beds were very good. The neighborhood is also very good, and a big plus is a proximity to the London Eye, I would say about 10 minute's walk.

United KingdomI am certain that I booked a room with a private bathroom (my only preference for a trip) but there was only a bathroom shared between 3. The toilet had no sink so you had to wait for the shower room to wash your hands. There was no hot water in the shower. I tried calling downstairs but the number listed was disconnected (!?). I emailed but never got a response. The room makes it seem like it’s going to be a nice place, I 100% feel misled.
