Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaI didn't like that some of the beds were right next to each other (side by side) with only a little board at the head partially separating the two.
The communal kitchen was friendly and convenient, as were the staff. The setting is also a cool area, although the train can be quite loud.

RussiaThe room is filled with noise because of the train station and you couldnsee the trains coming and going from our room. If you work online and have meetings, I don't recommend staying here. What's more, there isnt a chill room. The lockers were tiny tiny tiny in comparison to the ones I'm used to seeing in different hostels + they were inconveniently located which made them difficult to access. The windows wouldn't open all the way and there was just one static fan for a room of six on the floor. The room was too hot and I could barely get some sleep the first night. The mattress was ok but the sheets could be of better quality. The showers were OK but there was only one which had a place to put your things (clothes, toiletries) and it was a window edge. The toilet was unpleasant to look at but it was kept clean and there was toilet paper available. The fridge is small and there isn't much space to put your things. Additionally, the kitchen closes between 11pm to 8am. Lastly, you have to pay to store your luggage.
The location is unbeatable in a sense. You're 5 min away from the best and most famous attractions as well as being close to the underground, the train station an plenty of buses. There's a bar downstairs but it's hardly noticeable upstairs. There's also a supermarket in front of it which makes it super convenient. They have a kitchen which is fairly equipped. You have luggage storage (paid extra) and they provide you with earplugs which you can find on your bed. They did clean the room when I was there and the toilets and showers were ok as well.

FranceThe room is located next to a train line, so there is a lot of noise from trains. However there are less trains during nighttime. There are not a lot of showers (but they are clean).
Very convenient, only a few minutes walking from Big Ben. The rooms have a lots of bed but it is kept clean. They have universal adaptors for electricity.

NetherlandsNot anything they can do about it but you can constantly hear the sound of the trains which ride just by the hostel. I was out all day so it didnt bother me but if you're looking for a quiet place to stay this might bother you. Taking the excellent prices into account this wasn't an annoying factor for my stay :)
The employees were all extremely friendly and fun to chat with. Everywhere was clean and maintained daily. Located 2 mins away from the london eye and subway connection, a bus stops right in front of the door.

If the place put in the escelator or lift. It will help out a lot. My room is next to train station . Very noisy. Location is perfect. Close to restaurant. Train station. Next to bustop. Facility is clean. We only stay for 1 night but we will come back if we can stay in first floor.

United KingdomAs much as I expect a bit of noise, the proximity to the train tracks is something. Take ear plugs, other than that, it's pretty alright.
The staff were great. I left a jacket and they were very responsive and kept it safe for me. Top job staff!-.Mix of travellers. It was good. As clean as you'd expect a hostel to be. The area was pretty good and the street the hostel was located on had lots of places to eat. Very close to some of the tourist attractions.

BulgariaThe window was open, otherwise we would probably be unable to breathe, and there is a large railway station next to it. You have to be dead drunk to have a decent sleep. There was no toilet in the room.
Location was perfect, just 3 minutes walk and you're at the Westminster bridge. Beds were clear. Safety guaranteed as there are two codes before you enter the room.
