How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Smelly dorm but this was the folks I happened to share with so a little unfortunate there. My dorm mates were really noisy too, drink fighting and screeching so I guess a downside is there aren’t staff around to maybe quell that behaviour a bit you expect some party antics staying in London and shared dorm but this didn’t stop until 4am and was quite unpleasant stuff
Really friendly team, cool location, busy bar and opportunity to meet other people, lovely building, great breakfast

I was sent to a different room while I had booking better room with wrong door code. I had to challenge him for his wrong doing to rectify that. He didn't apologized for that, totally appalling. The WC does not have any hand washing basin and there is no toilet roll holder to do the business. The toilet roll was stacked up in the window ceiling back of the lavotory which is very inconvenient. There is only one basin basin situated in the shower room without any hand towel or tissue. A very small mirror was given in that room.

While the train noise was a constant annoyance, it didn’t completely disrupt my stay but was noticeable throughout, as warned beforehand. The shared bathroom facilities were basic. Breakfast was very simple, which I expected, but could have been better.
The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect, especially for anyone needing easy access to Waterloo Station or Westminster. The short walk over the bridge with stunning views of the Houses of Parliament was a real highlight. Given the price, it offered a convenient base in central London. The shower in the shared bathroom had excellent water pressure, which was a nice surprise.

Need to pay for a towel and to clean the bed sheets, no towel or paper on the room sink to dry hands, it can get pretty noisy depending on the day.
Good breakfast, good roomates overall, it has every utensil you need on the kitchen, earplugs

The only thing i can find negative is that at late night hours there is no common area accessible inside the property to chill or the kitchen to eat something.
I’ve stayed before here. Mainly the location is very convenient. I would recommend for 2-3 nights of stay. Staff were friendly.

The toilet and shower were extremely dirty. Nobody on site. Wall outlets were not working for charging. One bathroom for whole floor was a disaster.

Rooms lack any curtains over the bunks and any personal lights or sockets, which are very common in other hostesl for 2/3 or half of the price. I did get what was in the picture, so it isn't really a complaint (though price is really meh, if it wasn't for location, I would go somewhere else), but is definitely something that could be improved. The breakfast was quite late, from 8am to 10am, so I couldn't have one as I had to leave before 8 when all the shops/costas/etc were still closed.
Good location - very close to Waterloo station, ideal if you need to catch an early train (which was my reason for staying there). Earplugs were included, which is nice.

It was too close to a train station and hospitals, so you would hear the trains and sirens all the time even during the night, making it hard to sleep.
The location was great. Included breakfast wasn’t too bad. The facilities were clean.

It is at a busy train station and main road. There is always noise coming from outside. There are 24 beds in a big hall so people may snore or make noise as well.
Location was great so central. Breakfast was good. It has clean facilities overall .
