A walk in shower and a lift would be useful especially for older visitors. However we appreciate that the age and design of the building may not easily permit these additions.

We had a light and very spacious room overlooking the sea. The bed was large and very comfortable and the room very peaceful with wonderful views. Dinner and breakfasts were excellent and this hotel made a very good attempt at providing a ‘continental’ breakfast (something that is not always adequately achieved by hotels). Staff were friendly and there was ample onsite car parking. In addition there are added facilities like the spa which we did not use on this occasion. We will definitely return.

I would have preferred a chair rather than the dressing table stool, which was far too low. Some of the bar and serving staff were rather surly. The continental breakfast was rather limited, but the menu for the full breakfast appeared very good,

The room was huge and wardrobe space was excellent. The bathroom was very good, although a separate shower would have been good, particularly as the bath was rather high to get into.

Everything was lovely! We had a really good sized room with terrace access, I feel like we were the first people to ever stay in it as it was pristine. Double showers and basins too! You need to book a slot to use the spa facilities, which meant it was not busy. The bar serves an excellent espresso martini and the food in the restaurant was delicious. A nice stroll in the woodland after breakfast finished off a lovely one night get away. All staff were friendly and helpful, and the building is beautiful. What more can you ask for?

Pool restrictions of 1 hour, plus for some reason all the pools I visited in Cornwall all seem to be only 1 metre deep at 1 end so cannot swim lengths. Also menu was limited and same each night.

My daughters upgraded my room as a treat I stayed in a superior room with its own garden, which was in the basement with only 4 rooms on this floor. I had an excellent nights sleep and enjoyed my private garden. After spending 3nights there already planning a return visit. Reception staff outstanding.

My gripe always with any hotel is not enough tea and coffee and fresh milk in the bedrooms. We do drink a lot though! Having said that, the lovely Night Porter, Pete, gave us fresh milk in a jug when we asked for more milk. Great service.

We had a lovely room with sea views in a gorgeous hotel. Was very cross that I hadn't remembered to bring my swimming costume however! All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We couldn't believe our luck at finding such a lovely hotel and we'd love to return.

No dinner served on Monday evening unfortunately. They did offer Greek food from a Food truck. The outlook from the Hotel was spectacular but it was isolated requiring a trip to Fowey for an evening meal. This was a disapointment as was the fact there was no elevator.

Lovely place, beautiful setting great wood land walk full of bluebells and we saw deer. Downside we arrived at 9.30pm no food kitchen closed but bar open but no snacks even. Thankfully I had my own nuts! Rooms and hotel a bit too warm (and I like etm) hence the need for a walk and fresh air! Friendly staff

A number of staff appeared inconvenienced to have us stay there and when we asked for help. I understand it was a busy weekend but it did put us off a bit.

The property was okay, it was dated which is fine and seemed clean. The location was good.

The fact that a wedding was going on while we were there. We would not have booked if we knew this at the time of booking. We felt very awkward. Staff seemed very uninterested in general. Young lady at breakfast seemed miserable.

Some staff members were pleasant and helpful, however one waitress seemed to be irritated by your presence and was very rude, first we got told that she was rushed off her feet with the amount of people eating on the terrace, ( I counted 2 tables only 1 had ordered food) and that we would have to wait until she had time to make 2 coffees for us, and then said she was fed up being confined to 4 walls, I found this rude, the very reason people take breaks is to relax , and without customers she would have no job , then we got moaned at because at breakfast she was really busy and apparently we hadn’t booked, which we had and it was paid for the night before, and then followed to say that she advised us to book as she had a lot of tables to serve, there were only 3 tables eating breakfast, it seemed that we were an inconvenience to her, The restaurant was described as high end on website but the menus were given on old printed a4 paper, and the menu was very limited, Definitely not what described on websites, We had decided to dress for dinner as it was portrayed to be smart but felt rather overdressed when other guests were in shorts and flip flops,

Beautiful grounds , very well kept, exceptionally clean,

The pillows were hard and uncomfortable. We ordered water at the table and had to remind the staff three times before receiving it. When we ordered drinks at the bar, they didn't arrive, and others who ordered after us were served first. In the end, we decided to leave without receiving our drinks due to the disappointing service. The number of staff compared to guests seemed inappropriate.

setting was ideal and food was excellent

There wasn't many people staying there and somehow they ran out of quite a few things on the evening menu. The potatoes on the Sunday roast were like eating old school dinner roasties, hard and anemic. Also no pigs in blankets and stuffing as advertised. The sausage on the breakfast was crisp on the outside and raw inside. Told the waitress and she said she would let the chef know. That was the end of it. Definitely will not be returning.

Very tranquil and lovely manor house.

3 nights of the 4-night stay were offered a buffet - which can only be described as leftover and re-heated food. This was not advice before we arrived but only at the time of arrival Christmas Eve not leaving us with an alternative. Very disappointing swimming pool only available up to 11am for 2 of the 4 days.

    The room was well decorated
