Would have liked some healthier choices for breakfast, but realise that fruit and yogurt can work out expensive. Would have liked nicer pillows, but the ones in the room were comfortable.

I stayed in room 5 and it was COLD..!! The radiator on the wall wasn`t working, nor was the central heating or towel rail. I mentioned this to the young girl behind the bar before going for dinner and when I got back found an additional electric oil fired radiator outside that I had to leave on all night. The shower and bathroom sink drainage was really poor and I had to stop the shower every couple of minutes so the water didn`t overflow onto the floor. I appreciate the building is old but a plumber would soon sort this out .

Its a tired old grubby hotel..The Internet was as good as useless, dirt everywhere even smoking in the rooms, I don't think the fire alarm was working.mould in the shower the list is endless

Unfortunately, the shower was not very good, may be due to low pressure given the age of the inn. It also took at least 5 minutes for hot water to come on. There was also no lightbulb in the lamp next to the bed. Breakfast on Saturday was a let down, but rectified by staff, and Sunday it was much improved Somebody’s underwear had been left in one of the drawers from a previous stay!

The room was small with no cleaning service for the entire length of stay and an incredibly small shower cubicle. The bed was rather uncomfortable with an underlay mattress. Others could be heard from the outside corridor as well as from the room next door due to lack of sound isolation. Loud live music was played in the bar right until about 23:00 on Tuesday evening so it was totally impossible to rest.

Staff are lovely, easy check in and out, breakfast lovely, room clean, it's an old building which I love but if you're looking for ultra modern go to Premier Inn if you want welcoming and friendly come here

Lots of stairs but was do-able. Our room was a little small but it was only for 3 nights. We probably could have asked for a different room. It was still fine though & spotless.

The staff were very friendly, polite & very helpful. The food was excellent. It is in a perfect location. We will be going back for definite.

Room they tried to give me hadn't been cleaned, another had no hot water at all and when turned bedding down pubic hair was found in bedding. Couldn't shut one of the windows and heating not working properly

Great cosy pub/hotel, all dressed up for Christmas with a log fire burning away, the Christmas songs just put the icing on the cake. Room was fine and the breakfast was great, lovely taste and plenty to chose from

Can’t think of anything other than one of the 3 rooms was a little bit small but for the price it was great.

The hotel was quirky and busy. It had the feel of a real pub in the bar. The food was excellent quality and value for money. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and the chef came in early so we could have breakfast before we had to leave. In a brief Simply Perfect.
