Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing.
Absolutely everything. Beautiful and unique décor, warm and cosy, feels like home, everything is provided, location is at the heart of everything, nothing was a problem for Nathaniel. In the world where nothing is perfect this little place certainly challenges this truism.

United KingdomScant could improve this great place.
The location and decoration of the room was exceptional. A cosy retreat in Howarth that meant poor weather gave me a great excuse to spend more time in the property. Warm, clean and very unique.

IrelandEven though this apartment was perfect for us, there are a couple of things that those of you with mobility limitations should be aware of: 1) Accessing the apartment means climbing a single flight of stairs; 2) Its shower is in the bathtub. Also, those of you who favour the soulless, clinical style of decoration and furnishing currently in vogue will probably not like this apartment.
Location, location, location - plus ambiance and the hospitality of our host, Nathaniel. This self-contained studio apartment is on the first floor (second storey) of a traditional Yorkshire cottage. It is right in the heart of the Brontës' Haworth, straight across the lane (Church Street) from the main entrance of the church of Saint Michael and All Angels, where Patrick, father of all the Brontës, was perpetual curate, where his son-in-law, Arthur Bell Nicholls, Charlotte's husband, was his assistant curate, and where he wed Charlotte. That church’s crypt is where Patrick, his wife, her sister, and many of the Brontë children, including Charlotte, are buried. The apartment is also only about 100 meters from the Brontë Parsonage Museum, which is located in the house where Patrick lived and where most of his children were reared. A similar distance in the opposite direction The Black Bull pub, Branwell Brontë's favoured hostelry, can be found. On the practical front, the apartment is also only a short walk from two (paid) car parks, the museum’s and the Central Carpark. We used the latter, which cost us a total of £4.50 to stash our car there from 8am to 8pm and £1 for overnight parking. On the ambience front, the apartment is decorated and furnished in Victorian style, which helped to bring us right back to Brontë times. Being a studio apartment, the sleeping, living and cooking areas are in the same room, with the en suite bathroom in its second room, featuring a shower-in-bath arrangement. The cooking area was adequately equipped, including with a two-ring electric hotplate, a microwave, an air fryer, and a (small) refrigerator. The queen-size bed was very comfortable and, even though we stayed there in mid-December, we found the apartment to be cosily warm at all times. I know it's a cliché, but in this case it's true: Nathaniel, our host, couldn't do enough for us.

It was exactly what I hoped it would be, atmospheric, cute, comfy and homely. Fitted in perfectly with the Brontë experience.

United KingdomMy daughter said there was a cat that was scratching at the door at 5.30am 😅 she said it didn't bother them too much but they ended up getting up really early & going for a long walk to take in the view's.
I originally booked this trip for myself but unfortunately I couldn't go so gifted the trip to my daughter & son in law for a much needed break. Sadly they could only stop one night. However they absolutely loved it 🙂 They have never visited Howarth before & can't wait to return. I'm hoping to re book this place again ASAP for myself 🙂

United KingdomThe garden needs tidying up. The Council has just hiked up the parking prices and parking overnight is now a small fortune. Not the owners fault but we only found out on the morning of our travels which left no time to consider our options.
The apartment was quirky and in keeping with the area. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Very close to all amenities.

United KingdomCouldn't sit in the garden, weeds everywhere, old toilet in the garden. Needs tidying up, disappointing.
Location was ideal for looking round Haworth. Unfortunately didn't see the host at all during our stay, although I tried knocking on his door our first day. Lots of places to eat, cafes and pubs. Black Bull, The Fleece, White Lion. There was a fantastic chocolate shop down the main street, excellent chocolates.
