The rooms can use some renovations, our room was smelling of mould and that made my night a bit uncomfortable. But generally the room wasn’t bad but definitely needs some improvement (refurbishment).

The breakfast and the food in general is really excellent. Keep up the good work. If I had to come back, it would mainly be for the food. The staff are super lovely, helpful and courteous.

The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and resulted in only about 3 hours sleep when I gave up and turned 180 degrees so my head was at the foot of the bed. Definitely needs flipping. Also the WiFi didn't work in my room and it was not possible to resolve it which was disappointing

Staff were brilliant and friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely. Had dinner there as well as breakfast and the use of local produce was evident in the quality and flavour.

Needed an armchair. Bathroom handle/lock needed attention.

Perhaps I should have noticed when booking as breakfast wasn't incluced for Booking.com guests (it was for those who booked direct). It was also started too late (8am) and pricing didn't look competitive.

Was told that we could check in at 4pm, when we arrived after a long drive plus 2 dogs , we were informed that the room was in the process of being cleaned. We decided to walk the dogs, have a drink hoping that the room would be ready. Went up to the room an hour later and it was still being sorted out. We were due to go back out at 6 to meet family and had no time to freshen up or rest. On speaking to the housekeeper she mentioned that a wedding party would be returning later onto continue celebrations. We were a bit worried as we would not of booked the room overseeing the courtyard and knew that we would not get any sleep if we were to stay. We thought about it whilst we were out and I emailed the hotel/pub to inform them that we had decided to travel back home and would not be staying, stating the reasons for this. The following day, I received an apology and was told that I would receive a full refund. I was happy with this, but have never received a refund even though I did remind them . I would advise that if you are booking and want a quiet night, check with the hotel first.

As we have friends in Chilham the Woolpack is a convenient place to stay. The family suites are very large and comfortable and the price is pretty reasonable. Its easy to walk everywhere and in the past the food has been pretty good.

Breakfast only served from 8 so if you're working the next day you can't eat. They weren't able to provide cereals or fruit earlier either. Bathroom was dirty, bed wasn't very comfy and lights felt like a youth hostel.

It was made clear to us on a number of occasions that we were not entitled to breakfast as we booked through booking.com. Cost of breakfast was excessive. Pancakes were inedible. Coffee machine was allegedly not working. The larger of two breakfasts rooms was occupied by a couple with three children making so much noise the rest of guests were squashed in a smaller room to avoid them. Staff were inexperienced, helpful if not very clued up. A second key was unavailable.

Location. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Room 7 has an outside door shared with room 8, which had been on the latch during check-in. Arriving back at half past midnight only to find the door locked. There were no staff available to help and only after banging on the door loudly and disturbing another guest I discovered that room 8 was provided with a key but room 7 wasn't. Breakfast was being served by one young lady who was obviously stressed. After we had ordered breakfast we overhead two other tables saying they had either not been served or had been waiting an hour. We subsequently cancelled our order and decided to leave to eat elsewhere. when I returned with the key to check out the young lady was in floods of tears and ran out of the room. No doubt the stress of a room full of guests was too much. She shouldn't have been working on her own.

Handy location for the wedding we were guests at.
