Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIt was self-contained, with everything we needed. We cooked a meal and then walked to the pub in Marnhull for a drink, and back in the dark with head torches. It's a lovely old pub and complemented our stay at Yew Tree View.

United KingdomThe sink is quite small & there is no roller blind on the fan light window which seems to be open permanently. More a concern when the wc light is on at night rather than in the day. Not a dislike but just to be noted: the colour changing light in the shower is controlled by a remote control on the shelf in the kitchen.
This is an ideal place to stay if you want a peaceful and rural location on the Dorset/Wiltshire border at an inexpensive rate. The bedroom area has a 2 seat sofa and a small dining table and chairs, we found both of these really useful. There is a hair drier and tv. There is no wardrobe but there are coat hooks and several chests of drawers for your clothes. You conveniently have your own parking spot immediately behind the property. There is a 2 ring hob, microwave and small fridge in the kitchen area. A thoughtful small glass bottle of milk is provided. Plus a picnic table/bench for use outside the property. There is a small room for the loo/sink and a separate shower. Towels provided. A key box meant we didn't actually meet the owners but we spoke via this message service before our stay and on arrival day and they were helpful, friendly and quick to reply. It was a extremely quiet here throughout our 2 night stay in September. There is a cute shepherds hut also on the property site and a summer house with a swing seat. We could see a few sheep in the field opposite us. The Crown pub in the village serves great food (we booked for Saturday night as it seemed popular) and the local shop is handy. I'd also recommend The Udder Farmshop for a decent breakfast (you can book a table online) and your delicious Farmshop food and drink purchases. Good location for the Verve Festival (Hatch House, Tisbury) that I was visiting. We would stay here again if we were visiting this area. Trips to the Dorset coast didn't seem to be too far from here (hour or less) although we didn't do those on this visit. Thank you 🙂.

United KingdomA small detail but there was no soap dish in the shower cubicle. Everything else was very good.
Friendly and helpful communication from host. Information in the property about the facilities in the cottage and in the village e.g. where to shop and eat.(Very good food in the pub) Comfortable bed and although the cottage was very small it was arranged well to eat and relax. Excellent value for money.

United KingdomSofa could have been a little more comfy. Picnic table outside would have been better as two chairs and table, more comfortable than bench seating. Not safe to use mobility scooter on lane as no pavements, so drove into village, worth knowing if you have similar mobility issues. More abled visitors can use a back public footpath across fields for quicker access to the village.
Lovely location. Pubs/shops within a mile. Quiet. Key access easy. Kitchen minimally fitted out for two. Small fridge, microwave in a cupboard. Plenty of hot water. Clean comfortable bed. Parking free and near the apartment. WiFi. Very clean and décor lovely. Comfortable clean bed. Great place near to many tourist locations.

United KingdomThe weather was awful with heavy rain for most of our stay which resulted in a lot of flood water everywhere. It was a shame as we would have liked to have gone out more on foot. The local pub looked good but would have been a bit far to walk with the poor weather conditions so we didn't attempt it.
Lovely self contained studio in a peaceful location ideal for a relaxing break. The studio contained everything we needed for our short stay. The owner was friendly and welcomed us on arrival and provided contact details in case we needed anything. Fresh milk along with tea and coffee had been provided which was thoughtful.
