If you are looking for a quiet sleep, perhaps seek further away from the main Street. Great nightlife- as expected- so it was a little bit loud!

We had a lovely 5 night stay at Batis!! The staff are very warm and welcoming, the hotel is in a fantastic location- across from the beach, 15 minutes walk to the old town. Excellent service overall, clean and responsive. Nice rooftop breakfast. Staff very helpful in arranging taxis and recommendations for dining. A quiet, clean pool to relax by.

Property is very important but also even more important are people working there… For this hotel you get both… Property on good location ,modern very stylish. You have everything you need. For the people working there , including Ismini , Mary , Aris , cleaning ladies …. We felt from day one as a part of family. They were always there for us , to help out ,to give us suggestions…. We loved our stay at Batis Beach hotel. Personel was always smiled, nice and very helpfull - Isimini thank you for all the recommendations in Rethymno :-) Despite of late arrival to the hotel they were waiting for us to give us a key and explain how everything works. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace with a great view of Rethymno. We had a room that wasn't renovated yet but it Was still very clean and comfortable.

location is superb, and the view from the room is amazing. Beach is just across the street and at the price of the sunbeds you get two basic drinks if you stay at the hotel. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. We stayed at the suite and the terrace and entire room are big and newly renovated.

Walking into Batis we were greeted by the lovely smiling Ismini. We arrived a little early and were lucky enough to be taken to our apartment which was on the second floor. The view was not a direct one to the beach but gave us a side view which was plenty to appease our enjoyment of the water. Our room was spotless and spacious with a large balcony. Every morning we would be greeted by Ismini and the owner on the rooftop terrace for breakfast which was an assortment of delicious eggs, breads, yoghurt, coffee and juice. Our room was service every day. The pool area was beautifully maintained, welcoming and a lovely place to sit either in the sun or shade. There are plenty of fabulous restaurants along the strip and each one that Ismini recommended were fantastic. As the beach is directly over the road, you are offered a free drink with every day bed purchased. The old town is an easy walk to with great shops and historical landmarks.This is a family run Hotel and we would highly recommend it.

Great location across from beach and within one mile for dinners in old town. Friendly staff made stay even better. Hotel was exceptionally clean. Breakfast on rooftop restaurant was simple, but delicious. Felt safe there as a woman travelling alone.

Our room looked much older than the one pictured on Booking.com which was a little misleading - I feel like it needs modernising and they've perhaps done some rooms and not others. Lots of dark wood and too much furniture for the room, really. The beach bar service was not great, just one woman who spent most of the time flirting with older men instead of bringing drinks.

The reception staff were friendly, the beds were comfortable and the balcony was a really good size. The beach was just across the road and was beautiful. There's a big shelf full of books you can read and swap near reception, which was lovely, and the bar does good cocktails. The large beanbags on the beach were so comfortable and such fun, perfect for some reading time.

Batis is a family run hotel. The hosts are wonderful people, always smiling and trying their best to make you feel welcome and confortabile. The hotel is placed near the beach, the area is surrounded by nice tavernas and small supermarkets. The view we had from the terrace was astonishing, every night we could see the beautiful sunsets of Crete.

We had a really enjoyable stay at the hotel! The pool was clean and the area was kept really tidy so was very inviting. There is also option for a book swap which was a pleasant surprise and the bar out the front made great cocktails! Please note one key is for the electric and one is for unlocking the door - we made this mistake one evening as in the UK, you’re always given two of the same key should you have different plans to your travel companion. Anyway the owner had to come out and he mentioned to us he lived far away! The staff are nice and welcoming. The main improvement id suggest is better kitchen equipment for cooking and eating. Other than that we had a really lovely stay! And excellent cleaner too! Thanks for having us.

I recommend booking a room on the garden side because on the sea/ street side it might be too noisy from cars and scooters. Also, on the back side, there are some garbage bins that are emptied every morning around 5 and this makes enough noise to wake up.

The room is big enough for 2 people, it has a balcony too with a table and chairs where you can have lunch or just relax. There is a small kitchen area equipped with cutlery, glasses, mugs etc, a small stove and microwave, a fridge (with freezer too). There is plenty of space in the cabinet. Also, there is a mini living room area next to the bed with two armchairs and a small table. The bathroom is fine, the only thing is about the water pressure that was changing from time to time but you can shower.

Batis Hotel is a wonderful place to stay for a holiday in Rethymno. The location is excellent and the hotel has all the facilities you need for a relaxing holiday. The rooms are very spacious and modern & we had a beautiful view to enjoy. What makes this hotel even more special are the fantastic team who work hard to make your stay perfect - especially Ismini & Aris who made us feel so welcome. We will be returning to Batis again soon.

It was a great location right on the beach and nice walk into old town for evenings. The people were lovely and could not do enough for us. They are updating some of the rooms, which we viewed and can’t wait to return to try one out.
