Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainRooms are small, but still manageable if you are not going to spend much time on them. The hotel was situated in an area that was not very nice, near a busy square that had loud music until 12 at night on a Sunday…
Different and cool interior design that offered a nice vibe.

United StatesWe loved the Red Dave Athens, it was a great concept, well used space in the rooms, the bathroom was cleaver (thou could be more aligned with safety in mind i.e. slippery floor throughout once you've showered). The room was a bit cramped, (might have been the room we choose) but very well thought-out. The bed very comfortable, pillows, it was a good night sleep. The neighborhood is quite honestly a bit "seedy" but we're from NYC, there is however a Police station directly across the street from the hotel, (so you're safe). The roof top was a great chill spot spectacular views, perhaps a little tiki bar setup on the roof would save on consistently running downstairs for another drink. We had the breakfast plan, food was good (no eggs, not sure it was just the time we were there or not) but there's good breakfast supply, would recommend the breakfast plan. There's a little side bar table area to people watch, plan your day, just chill, while still on the Hotel property. The neighborhood is convenient after all is said, there's food shops, restaurants, shops, etc., it is safe to walk about, of course there's the unfortunate souls living on the streets on your path to the hotel, depending on your path, welcome to the world The Dave Red Athens, served its purpose for us, location, food, convenient, we felt safe walking about, Staff was great/help, always willing to help. We loved it!

RussiaI particularly didn’t enjoy breakfast - there was not as much choice even if you came early. There’s something I would definitely recommend working on. Also, we came over for my sister’s birthday and it was her first stay in the hotel and unfortunately, there was no b-day treatment. Usually, it is expected. It kinda ruined the vibe from the place.
Cool design, very nice location - close to all the major attractions. Helpful staff, Alina was great - she recommended great places to hang out in. Nice room, they made the best out of the small space.

MaltaAs you'll see in other reviews, the rooms are not soundproofed from the hallway side. I didn't hear any noise from the window side, but the door was not thick enough or well enough sealed and I could hear hallway noise from my floor and adjacent floors. (This after being moved from the Foxy King room I had paid for due to being able to hear, word for word, conversations from adjacent rooms.) The staff was friendly about this and made it up to me by allowing free breakfast -- which was delicious and served late into the morning -- and offering me free beer. Once they solve the sound issue this will earn the hotel the highest ratings. (The downside to having moved rooms is that the Foxy round bed is a bit short even for someone 5' 10" and, due to the shape, sharing it with a partner would've been a challenge.)
The design, vibe and overall style of this place are exactly as cool and fun as I saw in their promos and other reviews. The view from the rooftop was impressive. (I didn't have enough time to use the hot tub, but it looked nice.) The Foxy room, though indeed small, was well laid-out for one person for one night and the bathroom was nice. (Strong water pressure in the shower.) The record player was a fun feature, though the needle wouldn't catch the records properly so I simply used the Bluetooth function to play music from my iPhone and that was fine for me. Having access to the pool table at midnight along with a cocktail from the bar downstairs made it easy to decompress after my late arrival.

GermanyThe rooms are very small, but that was to be expected and not a problem.
everything was fine, interior design is very styly. The breakfast was ok: Breadrolls, croissants and Greek pies. Cheese collection could have been better, meat was there (i dont eat it so i dont know if ist was good), fruits, yogurt, coffee was only ok, juices were too sweet. Vegan choices: two kinds of jam, fruits, olives, tomatoe/cucumber-salad - the ususal small choices...

GreeceThe location is not in the best part of Athens, a bit scary to walk around at times. However easy for using public transport. Some of the common areas seem to be unused and still not in full function.
Beautiful design of the room and very comfortable bed. We enjoyed the coffee machine and LPs in the room, also the pool table and hot tub. Staff was very helpful.

United KingdomBreakfast could be improved with more variety in the fresh fruit. But it is in line with the South Europe standard.
The atmosphere in this hotel is really nice, and the roof terrace with the tub is an added bonus, above all in the hot evenings when you have a little breeze on the terrace. The bar offers also light meals and a great variety of drinks. The position is very good as it is near the underground. The staff is welcoming, friendly and helpful if you need information about the area.
