How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

we had some issues with who was in what room and in what bed every night i was there, which was a bit stressful for all of us that were there at the time.
i really liked all of the people there and the location was amazing. the bathroom situation was interesting but did not bother me.

The breakfast area is dark and not welcoming. The food is not so good.
Clean and big rooms. Central area. Good for travelers that only need a bed to sleep in. Nice inner garden with chairs. Clean common bathroom.

The shower didn’t drain very well, so the floor filled with water, which then made it difficult to get changed (there wasn’t a separate area to change).
Dorms were nice and friendly, clean bedding and towels were provided. Inclusive breakfast was nice, included croissants, cereals, tea and coffee etc. It was quiet and other residents were nice.

Very uncomfortable bed. noise from rooms next/above us but with earplugs it was ok. Sink next to socket and plugs.
Central, safe and quite location. breakfast was included and it was actually very good! Great value for money, room was decent.

The bed was a bit hard, but it was quiet in the room so I still slept great. It's a hostel so it's not fancy.
The location is great, near everything and on a quiet side street. George was so kind and even though he was short staffed, he always had a smile. The room was clean and there is a nice common area with coffee and snacks.

Simple and very comfortable room just below court yard. Breakfast minimal and OK. Location excellent close to Acropolis. Feels like a grade up from Youth Hostel. Very quite. thank you Satya

There was not much to dislike, however this is for my fellow Americans, do not expect a Continental Breakfast. They provided juice, coffee, and water along with some cereal, fruit, and pastries. Great way to start the day, but if you're looking for something to keep you full until lunch, you will need to eat out.
The room was awesome, had a view of the Acropolis and the provided Breakfast was a great way to start the day. The property felt very safe for two young women traveling and the staff was very kind. I really appreciated the communal pavilion.

Lockers are per extra cost. Breakfast is basic. Bathrooms could be cleaner.
Location in the middle of Plaka. You can easily access everything by foot. The beds are comftorable. The rooms are cool - clima was on all the time. I could also leave the luggage there for free after checking out. Coffe available trough all day.

breakfast is more than por for the price and you still have tea, coffee and fruit as much as you want all day, so its perfect.
the hostel is well located, clean, rooms have AC, bathrooms work perfectly, wifi works great, its cozy and its like staying in a greek family house.

The wifi kept cutting out... But the location kept us mostly out on the town anyway!
Location could not be better, staff was helpful, courtyard was great, the random stray cats (inevitable in Athens) were all adorable and fun!

Do not expect the friendliest staff. The beds and pillows are not the most comfortable, but they are fine for short stays

The facilities in the kitchen could be improved. Free lockers would be nice. :)
The room in which I stayed was extremely spacious and clean. I hence really liked the inner courtyard/garden. The location of the Dioskouros Hostel is just amazing. It is close to a lot of sights and also to the National Garden which is really beautiful and peaceful place. The breakfast was nice, too. I'm really happy with my stay and can only recommend the Dioskouros Hostel.

Overall the room& facilities are a little run down, but for a hostel & the price you pay, it’s completely fine!
The location is fantastic, next to many attractions, shops, restaurants. The inner courtyard is really nice, and the owner was super friendly and helpful!

Very friendly owner. A lovely courtyard and free tea and coffee all day. Books and games. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely big spacious rooms. Very central location, near to the Acropolis. Highly recommend staying here.
