How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing, loved it.
Staff was so nice and helpful. Everyone spoke very good English. The room was beautiful and had everything needed. The beach area was beautiful and well-staffed.

The calm colours and architecture, Pythagoria location is superb, lovely staff and the spa and gym were an added bonus! The mattresses were very comfortable too. We were really looked after. The hotel has a private beach nearby with sunbeds and a beach menu for food and drink.

Be careful the building does not have elevator. It can be difficult for old people.
With everthing the location, the breakfast, the building it was an excellent stay. Location is just 100m from the town. The hotel is brand new. The open buffet breakfast includes everything. Price/performance ratio is 10!

The only comment I would say is that the hot options on the breakfast buffet weren't hot.
All the staff were happy, friendly, helpful nothing was too much trouble. The hotel exudes an air of calm and relaxation. It was extremely clean and fresh. Towels, for example, werechanged every day. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Seating available inside and on a terrace. Even at the busy breakfast time, seats were always available. The hotel's position was good for all local amenities. They did have their own beach a short walk from the hotel with facilities to purchase drinks and food. Also delicious snacks available at the hotel during the day too. They did have a small spa but we didn't get time to use it. A great find, can't wait to go back next year.

The shower door was leaking a bit.
Everything about the hotel was very nice. Although I have stayed in many hotels before, I can say that it is the cleanest. The breakfast was very sufficient and delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was within walking distance.

Rude girl in dining room. Hiding her behaviour from management, rude to us and other staff.
Most staff wonderful except for rude girl in dining room. She was awful to us and other staff. Staff in gym, massage exceptional.

There is nothing I disliked.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. When my son fell ill and was resting in the room, they kindly sent up a plate of fruit and some orange juice. It was a thoughtful gesture. The room I initially booked on Booking.com was a bit small, so I requested a larger one. Despite the hotel being fully booked, they managed to upgrade us for two nights at no additional cost. I am looking forward to visitng Samos and staying in Doryssa Theorem Hotel again.

Our room was in the basement floor, so the room has a small window on up and there is no balcony. You have to check your reservation if you don't like to stay in a basement floor room.
Location is in the center and just 1 min walk to ferry, staff is very kind. They give us extra time for check out wich was very nice

They didnt ask if we want to stay in the rooms on -1 floor. The only thing that i didnt like is the location of my room. If i come again i will ask to stay in the rooms with balcony

I reported earlier on the fact that our room was in the basement which for one night was not a problem. However on this return visit ( three nights) we were again in the basement but with a terrace. This was in the back of the hotel and overlooked by an elevated footpath which was used by people on their way into town. But for the extraordinarily hot weather when we were there, which caused us to go to sleep in the afternoons with the doors closed and a/c on,we would have liked to spend time on the terrace but it was not private.

Our room was in the basement with windows at eye height ( for us) and so anyone walking passed had a good view of us.
Breakfast very very good, make your own really good coffee. Location super but no parking . Even though we had a hire car the town parking was uphill about .75 mile in 39 degree heat and on check out we were unable to countenance pulling our luggage to the car. We had to get a taxi. Liked the stoney beach the hotel had. The decor and comfort was top notch

Only downside was that we had a room downstairs, with only a small window. Maybe a bit pricy aswell.

as part of the Doryssa group with access to the big resort hotel facilities, would have been good to have a shuttle bus between the two vs a good 20 min walk
