Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We had an incredibly comfortable stay in Gavdos, made even better by the warm and friendly owners. Our visit was brief, just two nights with our young children (both under 5), but it left a lasting impression. Unfortunately, one of our daughters fell ill on the second night, which meant we couldn't fully enjoy everything the property had to offer. However, the owners were exceptionally helpful and supportive during this time, which made all the difference. We highly recommend this place for a relaxing and welcoming experience.

Overall Gavdos is a small and very calm island. Kastri is a very small village in the middle of the island; the apartments of Gavdos Princess are located in a very nice area with a beautiful and well maintained garden in Kastri. There is also a great tavern - maybe the best of the island - enclosed in the apartment area. When the sun goes down it becomes a very cozy and romantic place. They have a good variety of vegetables, meat and even fish; also for breakfast there was wide range of food. Due to the shadow and the courteous care you want to stay there for a longer time. The hosts are very nice and polite people and fullfill every wish. They picked us up in the harbour and arranged a car for us. Due to the heavy storm the ferry boat did not run on the first day booked; the hosts shifted the days without any additional costs and even upgraded our rooms; our apartment had two terraces. As the owners are very sociable, we learned much about the island and got a lot of great recommendations. We had a great time in Gavdos - thank you! We will be back!!! Bettina & Kurt

GreeceThe pillows were a bit tough and there was no curtain in the shower, which had as a result the bathroom to be very wet after use. Not a big issue overall.
Excellent location, views, next to all the coffee shops/tavernas, excellent hosts, very nice breakfast (we had omellettes and kalitsounia) and nice bar at night. Highly recommended, we would definitely go back.

United KingdomFood was lovely all freshly cooked to order and the hospitality and warm welcome was second to none. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. Met from the port and taken back on our return. Sorted us out with a hire scooter and a map with plenty of tips of where to go and what to see while we were there.

United KingdomThe property is at the top of a hill in the tiny village and so we needed some transport (bus only once per day) to get to the start of various walks/beaches which are stunning. Hadn't fully appreciated this. No taxis; no car rental available; so had to hitch. George found us a rental scooter which saved the day (expensive but needed even though distances are short)
George and his wife met us at the ferry to take us to the property. Very friendly and helpful as were the other staff in the on-site taverna where we ate each evening. Lovely views from our room and from the restaurant. Room and balcony was very spacious but the furniture /equipment was "tired" and could do with an upgrade.

United StatesThe Wi-Fi signal didn’t reach inside our room. Could only use it on our front terrace where it worked fine. Same situation for four devices that we use in hotels all over the world. Like many Greek hotels the bathroom has no shower curtain and this one flooded the entire bathroom floor during each shower. Stayed wet all day unless we mopped it dry. Not a fun part of our holiday.
Spacious private well-designed separate units that feel rustic and traditional yet comfortably modern. Excellent air conditioning. Central location with nice views.

United KingdomThe location was great and is good for exploring the island on foot, George and his family were very welcoming and helpful as well as Majit, he was very friendly and entertaining with serving our food each evening which was really nice, we were given a free transfer from the port to the accomodation, the villa was peaceful and relaxing, we highly recommend staying here especially for travellers that enjoy hiking. Thank you.

Switzerland. That I cried when I said good bye my last night to George and his team with big bear hugs. There is not 1 single negative. The Princess will force you to give up a piece of your heart to them. Thank you my friends.... For simply everything🙏❤️
I booked 5 days and stayed for 2 weeks. That should say it all. A perfect little cottage. When you stay here, you suddenly feel like family rather than a guest. The hospitality from George and staff is not to be compared. Hungry? Have a walk through the kitchen, lift the lids on the stove and tell them what you want. The food is wonderful, the feeling of being home, even better. The view and the gardens are both 1st class, the touch of background music from the 70's & 80's makes for a perfect atmosphere. The location for hikers in spot on. Already planning my next extended visit.
