Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandAll was nice.
We stayed in Santorini in November, after the main season, and it was perfect! The island was peaceful, prices were lower, and the weather was still great for swimming in the sea. The highlight of our trip was the stunning traditional cave house hosted by Valentini. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. The cave house was a dream, with amazing interiors and all amenities: two double bedrooms with en-suites, a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, and two outdoor terraces. One had a hot-water jacuzzi, and the upper terrace offered breathtaking views of the landscape and partial sea views. The apartment was spotless, with every detail carefully maintained. Additionally, a bus stop is located close to the apartment, making it convenient for those without a car. Valentini made our stay unforgettable, and communication with her was excellent. Megalochori, where the apartment is located, is ideal for exploring both sides of the island (just 20 minutes by car to each end). While the bus system is accessible, we rented a car, which made it much easier to reach any part of the island quickly and comfortably. Santorini in the off-season is perfect for those who prefer tranquility and exploring without crowds. The island offers so much beyond the famous photos of Oia—archaeological sites, diverse beaches, an active volcano, horse or donkey rides, and even rock climbing near Kamari. Thanks to Valentini, this was one of the best holidays we've ever had. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the authentic beauty of Santorini!

United StatesLoved the property, its manager Valentini, the village Megalochori, its restaurants and the marina restaurant. Can’t think of anything we didn’t like.
Stunning whitewashed home in the village of Megalochori, a short hop from Fira. The home is a stunner with a private whirlpool bath, a secluded upstairs lounge area, a large living room with an open kitchen/bar, and two bedrooms with separate baths. Ceilings are domed and curved walls are adorned with fabrics and cushioned seating. The property’s manager walked us through Megalochori and suggested a fabulous seafood restaurant in a marina a few kilometers from town. She ensured everything met expectations, left us to enjoy our vacation, but was always available by phone or WhatsApp.

PolandVery cozy place- „cave” in Megalochori village in Santorini. You have everything you need- well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds in two bedrooms, nice bathrooms. Outside there is nice jacuzzi perfect to cool down after or during hot day. Beautiful two terraces- one on the ground floor with beautifully blooming flowers second one upstairs with super view on the village and the sea. Walking distance to nice restaurants/taverns, sunset point, bus stop, super market (1 km but only 15 minutes walking distance), bakery. Last not the least- the manager Valentini- wonderful woman ready to help you, assist you and advise you every time you need it.

Finland-
The cave house exceeded all our expectations! The host, Valentini, was incredibly friendly and helpful. She even took us to the beach and the grocery store in her own car. The interior of the house was lovely, with very comfortable beds in the bedroom that made for great sleep. The bathrooms were modern and well-equipped. We loved the view from the terrace, overlooking the beautiful village of Megalochori. This charming traditional Greek village offered dining options, making it a perfect to explore local cuisine. Additionally, the bus stop and bakery were just a couple of minutes' walk away, which was incredibly convenient.

Villa Orpheus was beautifully presented in the middle of a traditional village. It was spacious, cool and smart. The plunge pool is amazing and the outside spaces are exceptional. The host, Valentini, was so very welcoming and helpful. She was rightly proud to present this cave house and this charming village.

United KingdomWe had a fantastic honeymoon at Villa Orpheus and our host, Valentini, could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The villa is in a great position on Santorini in a lovely quiet village with beautiful views from the upper balcony. There is also a private courtyard downstairs where we often had breakfast and it was great to have the plunge pool to cool off later in the day. The villa is stylish and clean with everything you could need including AC and was regularly cleaned throughout our stay.

United KingdomThe bathroom floors get wet quite easily but it wan’t a huge burden, we just used a spare towel to dry up.
Lovely quiet location tucked away down some little streets. The outdoor terrace areas were beautiful. Megalokhori is a hidden gem in santorini so this property was great value for money.

United StatesA few things that can be improved are: -master shower drain did not work. After every shower there was a mini flood in the bathroom. Also not a lot of hot water. -construction next door. The outside patio was very dusty and not really useable since it was dirty. They did clean it mid week though. -The air filters are very noisy. These made it very hard to sleep. -We wasted alot of groceries because the fridge froze everything.
This property was fun to stay in because it was a cave experience. The property manager Valentini was exceptional. As we were gathering our surroundings the second day and weren’t familiar with the island she went out of her way to pick us up from the grocery store to bring us back. That was above and beyond service. It was also very safe and in a good location to get to Fira or Oio easily. It was also nice to have the convenience of a kitchen.
