The rooms are small, with no windows. They have AC turned on during night, so it gets very cold (ask for an extra blanket), most of people would start sneezing the next day. During the day, when the AC is off, is impossible to stay in. There's a open garden in the middle of the hostel, so whenever it started raining (which happens a lot in Flores), the floors were all dirty, even with staff trying their best. Not enough showers and bathrooms for the amount of guests. Anyway, my expectations were higher, especially because it's not the cheapest hostel.

There's a supermarket downstairs and quite a number of restaurants and cafes nearby. Staff are helpful and friendly, though not all of them get to speak English. Wifi works well and hot water runs well.

They advertise a pool and have photos of the pool but they don't have a pool anymore! A staff member who claimed to be the owner let himself into our room. Lucky we were in the room at the time so we could ensure nothing went missing - felt super dodgy. Not much of a vibe, we wish we stayed at Los Amigos

- mould near bed - no plugs in the bathroom for hairdryers, have to dry hair in your bed - hangout space quite small - "open" garden and way to the toilet, meaning if its raining you will get wet - small kitchen with not many things in it - charge extra 8% if paying by card

On the plus side: - each bed has a privacy curtain - its definitely a quite hostel i.e no parties / social events / loud music so if you're looking to relax in peace that's definitely a place for you - hot water with good shower pressure (only during the day, it runs out in the evening / night) - very good location in the centre of the island -able to book tours / shuttles through them - breakfast included (however there is just one dish - scrambled eggs, toast, jam & fruit)

no lockers on the room, window broken so we could hear everything from the street, showers were disgusting and always dirty, no toilets nor showers on the first floor where my room was so had to go down to the main floor through the reception to find the first toilet. Staff was not helpful at all, didn’t give any solution to any of the issues. they even lied saying they would fix the broken window on the following day… Plus there’s an 8% fee to pay by credit card… I don’t recommend coming to this hostel, much better to stay at Hostal Amigos trust me, I’ve been in both

Can't get over how far the bathrooms/showers were from the rooms upstairs. If you're someone who goes to the bathroom in the night, it's just a bit ridiculous to have to dress up to go all the way downstairs. The lighting in the room was minimal, was very dim and you couldn't actually see much.

The rooms were fine, had a balcony, which was nice, and there is a nice but small outdoor seating space downstairs.

Everything about this place is just so pleasant and nice - the staff, the vibe, the coffee, the common areas, the location. We’ve been travelling for a few weeks now and stayed in some really good places. But none of them have had everything on point - which this place have. Like not to an excessive degree. It’s just, for the amount of money you pay, it’s just worth as high a score as there is. And to give two examples of how forthcoming this place is: 1) we stayed an extra night at our previous location due to a storm, missing a night here - no need to pay for that; 2) we took the sunrise tour to Tikal, was able to still get the free breakfast when we came back AND could use all the facilities until our bus left in the evening. We were literally surprised several times of how much this place exceeded expectations.

Really nice staff, the private room we had was huge and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Location is great - short two minute walk to the lake and near some nice shops and restaurants. Chocolate brownie in the cafe was yum! Tours available to Tikal were fairly priced and have good guides!

It was very well decorated, out room was spacious, confortable, large and clean, we even had a closet and it. was nice to have air conditioning. The hostel as nice social areas, it has a small pool which we didnt know. We missed the breakfast because we depart at 4am on. a tour to tikal, but we were able to take a shower on the shared bathrooms and they kept our bags which it was very kind. Manuel and the other guy on the reception were also very nice.

I don't have anything bad to say, when I was making my reservation I saw comments saying bad things and I don't understand why, everything was in perfect condition, great staff, clean bathrooms with no bad smell, nothing has mold, comfortable beds, don't get carried away for the bad! You have to stay here and live the fantastic experience that I had!

My stay was the best in the world! It has excellent air conditioning in the room, which is super important with the heat it gets in Flores, the bed was super comfortable, it had a light and plug next to my bed, and even a space to put my cell phone, The bathroom was spacious and very clean, the cleaning girls are the best. The lockers are big, the one I had was spacious. The hostel has a breakfast included which is delicious! It saved my life that they had a pool, they cleaned it often and the water stayed cold. It also had a kitchen and a refrigerator to store our food. The staff was very kind to me, they do everything to make your stay the best, they care a lot about you. Without a doubt I would stay at this Hostel again, I fell in love!

The best about this hostel is people who work there, always extremely helpful and nice. The breakfast are amazing too! I really liked that there's a water and tea available all day long, nice patio to sit and chill and AC in the rooms. Hostel helps with everything including trips and transportation tickets, leaving the backpackfor the day too. I enjoyed staying there a lot!
