Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChinaI booked a room with balcony. But the hotel gave me a room without balcony. I asked them why, they told me the balcony room was ready for me and I could pack up my luggage and move to the room with balcony. Their response made nonsense at all.
Good location.

Hong KongI took my husband's family as they are here on vacation. My husband and I stayed on the upper floors while I booked them a balcony area. They enjoyed the balcony a lot. Luckily, I came in first and checked out the room. I wasn't very happy because I saw some remnants of yellow balloons on the floor. There was bird poo on the sliding doors going to the balcony. I did ask the reception to clean it up and they did but I shouldn't be reminding the staff about this. I do have pictures to prove if needed.
This is my 3rd time staying at Gold Coast Hotel. I enjoyed it because it is family friendly and when you get into the lobby, it feels grand and gave me the feeling that it is going to be a great staycation, and it usually is. The rooms are spacious and the view spectacular. I enjoy coming to Gold Coast because it feels like I'm away from the city and I feel like I am on holiday and can relax. My husbands family enjoyed their stay and was pleasantly surprise on how relaxing the area is. I will keep coming back here.

GermanyThe price was to high, even when public holidays… 2700 HK$ are much to much for one night! Nothing else included! You have to pay for 45min in the children’s playground, not a day! Sorry… that can not be!

ChinaThe breakfast buffet is not as good as it used to be. It is quite expensive, and the food selection and quality are so-so. It really is not worth it. The cereal options are super bad; no dry nuts or good yogurt options exist. Same for the pancake area; the topping options are gone. just some simple sauces. They even didn't have chocolate or Nutella. No fresh fruits like strawberries or raspberries or blueberries and so on. The a la carte room menu is also quite disappointing. The food, in general, went more expensive and worst. It is not worth the money.
The location, the pool, the garden, and surrounding places. The hotel facilities, rooms, and views are superB. The staff is always super kind; I love this hotel. But...

Mexicowe needa make appointment for all sort of activities, like when we see air-hockey, indoor playroom, even just a choo choo train ride, we needa sign up for a later time slot and come back later. It could be the culture in this city. i don't know... facilities in outdoor playground was a bit too old. i hope that the door connecting to piazza can be used so we do not need to walk triple distance in order to get food.
everything went well. the breakfast offers a variety of food. the pool has slides. besides it there was a small water park that splash and spray on kids. it was fun! it was right by the beach. kids had fun there. walk for about 10mins, there is a company that offers water sports like standup paddling and kayaking. dinner buffet at hotel was awesome, especially the BBQ. room was clean. staff was frindly, polite and helpful. the outdoor playground was fun.

Hong KongHow you had to pay for every little extra thing, that should be inclusive of the room rate. Like renting bikes, the kids playroom, basketball etc.

Macao- A hotel that positions itself as family-friendly, did not count with a baby-changing table on the common toilets. - Breakfast is super pricy. Can’t say about the quality, as we didn’t try. - Indoor playground is also pricy, especially after I learn that my 3 years old can’t go on 50% of the play area as they rated it for 5 years old or above. However, a quick look to it and you can say that no big harm can come from that and everything is cover in fluffy walls/floor. I asked to allow her to go, at my responsibility, yet it was denied. - House keeping did a very lazy job on making up the bed in the morning, leaving all our pajamas on a pile unfolded and other minor stuff untidy. - After checking-out (12-13pm) you are not allowed to continue to use the facilities.
All staff were friendly. We have arrived for check-in before the actual time, but since we have a 2mths baby, they help us to get our room ready in no time. Bed is spacious and the view from the room is cool. The atrium of the hotel is very spacious with fountains and sofas. Because it was Easter, everything was decorated accordingly and they were running an Easter Egg Hunt for kids. There’s no plastic bottles of water; instead you can refill your own bottle or hotel in-room water jug on the machines located near the elevators - eco-friendly! Two big swimming pools and beach is right next door, about 3 min walk. The Piaza (8 min walk) is a cool place to have your meals, with planty choice for all tastes, altough I recomend only the Italian and Viet restaurants and to avoid the restaurant called MedStar.
