Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChinaThe room smelled muggy when I had arrived. I realized the water tank in the dehumidifier was full so I emptied it myself. I stayed 4 nights and kept the room tidy so I didn’t need maid service but after the second day, the staff saw me go to my room with my friend and decided to come check on us. They knocked on the door and immediately tried to open the door, even though the “Do Not Disturb” light was on and they knew I was in the room. What if I had been changing clothes? It was a huge invasion of my privacy and left me feeling very uncomfortable. For the next 2 nights, I was very careful about locking my door to avoid more overcurious hotel employees breaking into my room.
The location was great. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable.

KazakhstanThe staff at the reception desk was not polite. The room number was given on the 4th floor with awful view, on the next day someone started drilling in the corridor. After complaints they changed the room number and it was much better.
The room was small but big enough for Hong Kong. Location is good and nearby are lots of shops and cafes in a short walk distance.

United KingdomThere was a hiccup with the booking confirmation as the hotel had a problem with a perfectly valid credit card. It was resolved by me paying before my arrival.

AustraliaThe room was smaller than expected, but understandable for a city like Hong Kong. And though the location was good, MTR stations are still at least 10 minutes walk away, which could be a pain during the summer.
The room was clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The view overlooking the city and the mountains was also stunning. The hotel location was fantastic, with a bus stop right outside the hotel and walking distance to Wanchai and Causeway Bay, areas with great restaurants, cafes and shopping options.

SingaporeThe WiFi was quite disappointing; it was weak to the point of not being able to sustain a VPN at all, so I had to rely on my mobile hotspot when I wanted to watch programs on a VPN, and this was challenging because this being Hong Kong, the mobile data signal is almost always quite bad indoors. I thought the hotel was quite inflexible on a later checkout as well (my flight did not leave until early evening), saying that they were fully booked that day, when it was quite clear that a number of the rooms on my floor were empty; they also said I could always pay for an extra half a day to check out late, which was contradictory given the official line that the hotel was full. Finally, the cafe downstairs was a bit underwhelming in terms of quality of food and price.
The room and the hotel themselves were very comfortable and clean. I especially appreciated the refilling of the canned water everyday, and the provision of an HDMI port on the wall below the TV, which allowed me to set up my Apple TV pretty easily.

ThailandCheck in at 2pm didn't happen until 3pm. That was a bit of nuisance after a long trip. Staff seemed a bit dopey. Wardrobe was a bit inaccessible and too high up for comfort. Lifts chimed when they arrived but it was confusing to know which lift had arrived just from a chime. A light would be more helpful. Power sockets in the room are all Hong Kong style. Reception lent me an adapter, but you'd think they would have installed adapter sockets since most guests are not from Hong Kong.
The rooms are small but compact, with enough room to move around. The bed is comfortable enough. Soundproofing was very good. No traffic noise. No noise from the neighbouring rooms. Occasional talking from the lift outside my door, but nothing too annoying. Bathroom was small, but everything worked. Water pressure was good. How water was hot in the morning but only warm later in the evening. Wifi was good at around 40mbps and never dropping out. Easy to connect. Location was good. Easy walking to Wanchai and Causeway Bay. Buses stopped right outside the hotel that got you to central in about 10 minutes.
