Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyOne of the beds frame and the carpet had a spot of fluids. I think it was vomit from a previous guest. Shouldn’t happen
Excellent location, new amenities, conveniently located right over the AirPort Express train

GreeceThe very small gym can get busy quickly.
Very helpful and polite staff. Even if the harbour view is only partial, it's worth the upgrade.

JapanIf I had to mention one area for improvement, it would be that some facilities feel a little dated. However, everything is well-maintained and spotless, so this is more of an observation than a drawback.
I have stayed at W hotel HK multiple times, and the hospitality is always outstanding. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and go above and beyond to make each stay special. From check-in to check-out, they ensure a seamless and welcoming experience. Their genuine care and professionalism truly set this hotel apart. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, offering a luxurious experience with breathtaking views. The amenities, including the in-room features and overall ambiance, contribute to a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

TaiwanWonderful hotel which is located in Tsim Sha Tsui, best night scene and super comfortable bed! You can go downstairs to enjoy shopping/foods at Elements and walk 10mins to M+ museum. It's also convenient to walk surrounded to Canton Road. I'll choose W every time when I go business travel.

United KingdomI booked without breakfast but arrived so early the first day so I paid for the buffet breakfast to try - it was mediocre in my opinion but the service was great. Food wise it wasn’t worth the price, have had much better at other hotels. The lockers in the spa was strange, I was there at 6am in an empty spa but out of all the lockers there, only two were available for use as the rest were ALL locked and in use which cannot be possible if the spa was empty? I was also there for hours and no one else came in to get anything from their lockers so can’t say it’s the gym either? You need to clear out the lockers over night so people can actually use them as needed not let some people hog them permanently. Only key issue I had was that the hotel required to pre-authorise my debit card an amount which was basically half of my entire stay I had already paid in full prior to arrival. As I did not use anything from the mini bar nor ordered room service and the breakfast I had was paid separately this was entirely unused but took another week after check out to be returned to my bank balance and this is only after I chased for this to be escalated on their side and with my bank too. When using a debit card the amount held is removed from my total balance so not generating any interest which I would have benefited from. It’s 2025, maybe change your system so that your guests can pay for room services on their phones via Apple Pay rather than holding a large sum that most people won’t use and will have to wait for it to be released for up to 30 days after check out! You have everyone’s passport details and bank card information, you can simply call the police if someone damages the room.
Amazing location, straight in from the airport via AirPort Express and access to the shops and restaurants within Elements shopping centre. Also links to multiple MTR stations within walking distance. The room was stunning and spacious and always kept clean. Great view from the room and the bath was big and comfortable too. Will definitely stay here again next time. Arrived too early so my room wasn’t ready but I way able to use the spa facilities to shower and change which was great so I got to freshen up after my long flight and leave my luggage with reception, they sent my luggage to the room as soon as it was ready and messaged me. The spa was small but nice, the steam room was especially great after a long flight.

United KingdomWe wanted to have a coffee in the afternoon and went to the cafe on the 6th floor. No big deal, we thought. After all, this is our hotel. We encountered an odd lady who was hesitant to give us a table. We hadn't reserved... no, because we wanted coffee. Apparently, we couldn't have a window table because they were reserved. We didn't ask for a window table, and, oddly, the cafe was a quarter full if that, so what's the big deal. I said to the lady, what's the issue, we're here for coffee and there's no one here. She turned her back to us while she put on some performance. It was rude, so we decided to ignore her and walked past her to an empty table. She caught up with us and showed us a table that was suddenly available for us. She had an attitude problem. For this, I've deducted 2 points. Someone please train her. All we wanted was coffee in an empty cafe space.
The W is a swanky hotel located in West Kowloon, close to the M+ Art Gallery and the Palace Museum. We were given a free room upgrade from a city view to a partial harbour view room - very nice. The room was gorgeous with so many amenities. Honestly, we would have given the hotel 10/10, but we encountered a strange member of staff in the 6th floor cafe area where people - apparently - book to have afternoon tea. You have to get a taxi into Kowloon proper... there's no walkway and no MTR link.
