Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThey moved us to a room without a sea view or King bed, which is what we booked. We looked at another building. We had to get tickets for breakfast and half the time the office was closed. The service at restaurant for breakfast was poor The first day they didn't even have coffee. We had to buy toilet paper at one point because they didn't clean the room or refill amenities.
Location was convenient to things we wanted to do. The room was spacious and decent.

HondurasKitchen missing utensils. Shower leaks constantly. Dirty beach that can't be used for swimming because no one cleans the beach and it's used to dock all the boats for outside activities. The pool area doesn't have nice lights or outlets for electronics or nothing inviting. It's old, used and with colored lights like a cheap bar.
Breakfast good but I hated to have to ask for the tickets daily instead of getting them all at once.

HondurasWhen I got there, before check in time, the reception was close, a security guard had to look for fhe phone number of the recepcionist. The receptionist said he did not have any information about my reservation, at 7.00 pm they manage to leave the key to the guard. I found an filthy room. Next day I asked the receptionist what will be the charges if I left the room that same day, he said that the people from booking will get in contact with me (as I manage the deal with them)...no body from booking.com ever contacted me. It was one of the worst experiences in my life, staying in an environment I didnt feel secure and was dirty. I felt I was at the cheapest motel, with mirrors on the ceiling and walls...

GuatemalaRock room need maintenance as fast as you can. AC switch its not working, so you need to turn it on directly from contacts box, very dangerous, we prefer not to use it. The toilet was blocked, we reported several times, when the manager Fausto was advised, he was rude about it, I asked for something to do, you cant stay at an hotel with the toilet blocked; he just answer in a rude way to report to booking.com. They finally fixed it, but the toilet have days blocked, other guest from differents rooms at the villa reported the same issue.
Its the right place to be, close to everithing. The attention from almost all the crew its great :) including the security, and special thanks to Vicky. Fausto please check your attention to guests.

United StatesIt was nice enough on the inside, but it felt like they tried to make it feel like luxury without actually putting in the effort to make it luxury. The sink was in the wrong spot, the “rain shower” didn’t have enough water pressure, small things like this. The customer service was the worst we had experienced during our travels. Upon check in, the office was closed when we arrived (around 4 PM) and a security guard handed us an envelope with our key in it. We did not get a WiFi password and could not find anyone to help us on that front. Upon checkout, we needed to leave my 10:30 to get to the airport, and the office did not open up until 10:15, so we were quite stressed and the person working the desk was not helpful. She let us checkout, leave the key and get in the cab her friend had called for us, halfway to the airport she called our cab driver to say that we needed to come back and pay for our stay, which we had figured was taken care of because she didn’t ask us to pay when we left. All in all, very frustrated with the customer service, aside from that it was a nice stay

JapanWifi was so bad. The toilet was bad as well. I asked the front stuff to repair the toilet, and he said the repairer would go to repair in 10-15 minutes, but no one came like for a hour until I asked them again. Also couldn't sleep because it was so noisy outside all night.
The location was good. We could go to the beach for 30 seconds by walk.

CanadaThe sad shape of the cabins: Weak wifi signal or no signal at all. Burnt out lightbulbs on the veranda. A leaky toilet that was fixed but continued to have a constant drip. Only soap bars in the bathroom. We had to ask for shampoo and conditioner and were given only a bottle of shampoo.
