Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Absolutely lovely hostel in Copan. The hostel itself is beautiful and has plenty of space, the facilities are all very nice and it is also attached to a cafe/b&b owned by the same people. There is plenty of info available for Copan and the wider region as well. My only regret is not staying longer!

United StatesThere wasn't anything I didn't like, this place was awesome.
I love how close the location was to everything. The hosts were also so lovely and kind. There was a lot of information available around the hostel in regards to what to do in Copan. The rooms were spacious and they even provided locks for the lockers and towels too! The nights were cool so you really didn't need a fan. There were plenty of toilets and showers. I love that they have an area for you to do your laundry and hang dry them as well.

United KingdomThe mattresses really need replacing - they are very visibly collapsing in the middle, so they are no longer that comfortable.
It was really lovely. Everywhere was so clean, and beautiful. The cafe in their other property next door makes the best breakfast - so much food! There is a very cute cat that loves to visit. She meows at you a lot, but it turns out that if you pick her up and sit her on your lap, she'll just curl up and go to sleep. Very cute kitty.

SwedenNo kitchen (although the staff warms your water if you want to make coffee etc). The most annoying thing though is that you don’t get a key to the main door, so you have to ring the doorbell every time you want to get back in. This leads to two things: You have to stand and wait for a few minutes every time you get back to the hostel, but also while you yourself are inside you will hear the doorbell all the time, because other people are trying to get in. If there’s a lot of people at the hostel, the door bell rings VERY often, and it gets annoying having to open the door all the time if you’re relaxing in your room. It’s also pretty weird that they don’t give you a key to the main door, as if they don’t trust their visitors with it. I’ve never experienced anything like that in any other hostel through all my years of travel.
Helpful staff, good location. Nice bathrooms. Good room with great ventilation.

ItalyThe hostel has a cool courtyard where to relax and a common room where to read books and play table games. The room was cozy and the bed soft and comfortable. A great place where to stay, one of the best hostels I found in Honduras.

United KingdomThe people in our dorm was so inconsiderate loud noisy up and down all the time couldn't sleep properly slamming the door, not the fault of the place itself but something to note. Also could have done with more fans in the room as it is steamy!
The staff are lovely great food and the hostel is super clean with lots of showers and bathrooms, the bed is comfortable.

United StatesIguana Azul is an adorable little hostel with LOTS of information on traveling local areas. The owners own a fancy hotel next door and there are lots of books and reading materials to go through between the two locations. There are adorable cats that hang around the property and love to be loved. There is fresh water available and a fridge/freezer for use. The showers and bathrooms are outdoor in the courtyard and very cool. This place has a fun rustic feel to it. The owners were able to give me a lot of information on crossing the border during some protests which was very helpful, and the breakfast (at the fancy hotel next door) was very delicious and vegan friendly. I jogged to the ruins in like 10-15 minutes which I thought was really nice. Copan Ruinas the town is much more charming than I expected. Don't just rush through this town to see the ruins, because the town has delicious food, fun bars, and cool museums and architecture. There is always a security guard sitting at the entrance to the property at night, and I felt very safe and secure.
