Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LatviaGreat location just next to the town square. Good service for getting shuttle from Santa Ana and back. Everything functional - shower, bed. Typical breakfast with tortilla. Dont miss the terrace for beatiful views of the town. Ask for rooms removed from street which is rather noisy, but much better in the interior rooms. Room a bit worn, however great value.

MexicoThe room was a little noisy but I attribute that mostly to parties during the Christmas season. There could have been a little more flexibility with the included breakfasts but they were adequate.
The room was comfortable, the staff well informed and more than willing to answer questions. The waitresses in the small breakfast area were quite pleasant as well. It was good that the Hotel also had a transport/tour company which we used for transfers to and from Antigua, Guatemala

TaiwanMy room was right by the road, and the window wasn't sound proof, so I could hear all the cars and music. It was really loud.
The bed was very comfortable and spacious. I appreciated the extra table to put my stuff. Staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast good. Water fountain provided.

United StatesThe downstairs room was dark, but the staff was helpful and let me switch to upstairs (paying higher price). The guy working daytime (not the manager) didn't seem too friendly or keen to help, he was a bit intense.
Nice location just off main square. I really liked the upstairs balcony. Hot water works and the room is comfortable enough. The hotel manager she is very helpful. They had quick laundry service.

IrelandBeing located so close to the street it can be quite noisey, particularly in the early mornings. The traffic does tend to die down by 10pm or so though.
Fantastic location just off the main square, close to restaurants / bars. Staff were lovely and really helpful when asked for help -they organised for us to go horse riding. Big room & good air con. Would recommend for short stay.

United KingdomI initially didn't book on booking.com, I walked in and asked to see the rooms. I was shown the rooms and told the receptionist how much it was on booking.com and asked if he could match it, he said no and that I needed to book on here. I tried to explain that they take a cut so it would be in their best interest to book direct but he wasn't bothered so I booked online. Once booked he then was happy because on the system it wasn't the room I thought and said that it was the cheaper windowless room that I'd booked. Yet on my reservation it clearly said room with a view! We were arguing about this for a while in my broken Spanish but he was refusing to give me a room with a view and said I needed to book a different room, yet couldn't show me which one was the room I wanted on booking.com because all the descriptions described a room with a view when this isn't the case. In the end I booked a room for 20 dollars more. I really wasn't impressed but by this point I was fed up. Definately need lessons in customer service and to update their listings. For reference I think only the rooms that say 'room with balcony' in the heading are ones with views. The rest don't even have a window and smell of damp, it's worth paying more.
The shuttle service was brilliant, I booked to Antigua and had the best driver and vehicle of my whole central america trip! The location of the hotel was great, perfect for solo travellers. One morning the breakfast was really excellent, the next morning the chef was a different younger girl and it was barely edible with oily eggs and cold fried plantain. The room was comfortable.

United KingdomAt times noisy with people chatting on chairs outside their room in the hallway/corridor on the ground floor. Breakfast only so-so. Strong chemical smell from cleaning materials.
Right in the centre of town perfect location for walking around and lots of restaurants nearby. Room comfortable with air conditioning and hot and cold water. Very nice roof terrance. Motor transport nearby as town quite hilly.

BrazilMy room had windows to the patio which was very noisy even after 10pm, people were being loud (I don’t know if they were guests or friends of the staff) and that made it hard to fall asleep.
Very well located, just around the corner from the main square. The fact that they have a travel agency made things easier, even though they will surcharge somethings.

AustriaThe consierge advised us that the rooms on the balcony can be very exposed to noise. He offered us a room more protected on the inside, but with no windows and for me this is a hard pass. But it's true. Rooms that are on the front road are very exposed to noise. And considering that windows, doors, walls are all but soundproof, it was like hearing the dogs barking in my ear. Very annoying.
Excellent position. Copan city is not very big, but still the hostel is walking distance from every major point of interest of the area. Friendly frontman. Staff ok. Rooms are very essential, but price/quality ratio adequate. Warm shower, but you have lo let the water run for some minutes before getting hot water. Okay breakfast.
