How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Sky Bar : the staff member who manned this bar on Sunday August 11th basically did not appear to understand her role to provide a service , eg did not understand what a Martini Rosso and lemonsde was and wanted to give my wife a Lemoncello ; didn't know what a neat whiskey was for my friend and then served it in a Martini glass. and unlike the previous night when I had my Gin and Tonic served in a proper glass with lemon and juniper berries , she served it just with ice in a whiskey glass.Showed a group of ladies what dtinks she hsd on her mobile phone. The squirrels had eaten the peanuts she said Altogether she ruined the ambience completely and we hsd our drinks in the for Foyer the remaining 2 nights of our stay. .She needed Training. A good example of just ONE bad experience tarnishing the whole.
Large comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast choice. Feeling of a luxury hotel. Polite and attentive staff.

The location was ideal, and the accommodations were quite comfortable. We encountered a minor inconvenience in our room, but the staff handled the situation exceptionally well and provided compensation to ensure our satisfaction.

We had breakfast included. They could have added some more vegan options (most of it was bread, sausages, and cheeses). As a vegan, I appreciate the effort they made to accommodate me, but other than plain vegetables and fruits they only had uncooked tofu which isn't edible for me, and 2 kinds of vegan desserts (not so healthy).
We stayed at the Barcelo a year ago and had a great time so we decided to come back. As we expected, the room was sparkling clean, the staff was extremely friendly and even granted our request to change rooms. The location is also perfect: close to shopping centers, bars, and restaurants.

Cold and damp room! There is no fan in the bathroom, all the moisture enters the room. The room smells cold and damp!

There wasn't anything negative about our experience, which is impressive given the typically chaotic nature of an F1 weekend. The hotel's organization and efficiency ensured that everything went smoothly, from check-in to check-out. Despite the influx of visitors and the bustling atmosphere, the staff managed to maintain a high level of service and attention to detail. This made our stay stress-free and enjoyable, allowing us to focus on enjoying the race and exploring the city without any hassle.
I recently stayed at Barceló Budapest during the F1 race at Hungaroring and had a fantastic experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was comfortable and impeccably clean, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring. We requested a third bed, and it was made up for us every day, which was a thoughtful touch that added to our comfort. The hotel's location was perfect—right in the heart of the bar district, some noise at night but it didn't keep us up. This made it easy for us to enjoy the lively atmosphere without being disturbed when we wanted to rest. Being within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions was incredibly convenient and allowed us to make the most of our stay. Many restaurants, cafes and bakeries to chose from walking distance from hotel. Overall, Barceló Budapest offered a wonderful blend of comfort, service, and location. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area and looking for a memorable stay.

Julia at the roof top bar is very rude. The pillows were too high and uncomfortable

the staff were all very friendly, spoke really good English and were extremely helpful. the hotel is in a really good location and was within a 20-30 min walk of everything we wanted to do / see. It was great value for money.

Everything was perfect! The room is big and clean. The stuff was amazing and they are friendly. The breakfast was good enough! The location is very good. It is near most of the attractions and near the bus station and the metro station. I highly reccommend this hotel.

no water fountain to fill up bottles - the staff were happy to fill the bottles at the front desk but it was a bit of a pain to go down to reception each time also the door locking mechanism didn’t work properly and we really had to slam the door for it to lock. Bit of a safety nightmare for our room (801) as we almost didn’t realise the door wasn’t locked on the first night there.
