How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

the hotel is ok, the city a disaster . After 9pm everything is closed. No dinner! Also very expensive. .

There is simply nothing I can come up with
Very nice receptionists… good old fashioned hotel… got a lovely retro feel, yet all the modern amenities… excellent breakfast as well and all of that smack in the middle of this beautiful city Pécs

There was a bit of dust near the window and behind the TV and it looked as if it had not been cleaned in a while. The bathroom also had a bit of hair in it.
Hotel Főnix is a quaint and relaxing place with so much charm right near the historic centre of Pécs. The location is fantastic. The staff were all very friendly, and when I was having repeated issues with the WiFi a receptionist went above and beyond to help me solve the problem. The temperature reached 37 degrees one day and I was thankful to have air conditioning in my room. I really enjoyed my stay here and would certainly come back when I am in Pécs again.

Really fantastic location, very central. This also meant I had to sleep w earplugs as the streets are noisy and there is very little sound proofing. Interieur is quite dates but it s ** hotel so I was ok w it.

stay for 2 night during easter holiday,although this is old building,but the staff maintain the property well. Room are clean, the staff very friendly,helpful. breakfast is nice, cook upon request. Room size is enough for 2 pax,location very good,walking distance to the square. night time is quiet. We enjoy the stay

To be honest, nothing inparticular. For the price, this is what I would expect.
The staff were really pleasant and kind. The price for what we got was well worth it. It was clean, located fantastic location as well.

the hotel is in the very center of the town, old-style hotel, neat and clean, good value for money breakfast was ok, parking was not a problem because you buy a ticket at the hotel, staff is friendly , the room was spacious with a balcony, which we liked

Nothing missing or to complain.
Breakfast was good. Extras with eggs, Omelette and sausages included. Super location for Activities and sightseeing. Parking for an extra available at hotel.

The bathroom and shower is extremely small, hard to move around in them. Microwave and coffee maker would have been nice to have.

Rick-rack fittings, fraying carpet: the Fönix needs sprucing up
Just off Pécs's historic, mosque-topped sloping main square. We had Room One: a triple room with a pleasant balcony. Good value for money, including a decent breakfast, and receptionists helpful with taxis and restaurant suggestion (Nana). We had dinner at the Bagolyvár on the hill above the town: Levente Balazs's cuisine and our waitress Médi were just sensational.

It requires some renovation. I guess it used to be a cute little boutique hotel when it was first built 40 years ago. The room is very small and even the bed is small. You cannot open the room door and the bathroom door at the same time.
Location. It is situated very next to the grande mosque but the alley is very quite. It is close to restaurants and cafes and has a little shop in the same building, where you can buy water. The breakfast room is lovely, just under the roof.
