Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt was quite far from Amed town. Add scooter rental and taxis when calculating costs. The road is rough, narrow and full of pot holes. I wouldn’t drive it at night which eliminates night life, and there is no TV, so make sure you have a good book. The A/C in my room was not fully functional. I asked for a fan which helped, but it was the only fan they had.
The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Ketut, who acted as my personal guide on a snorkeling excursion he arranged. The room was charming, well-equipped and clean, and offered a good view of the gardens, the pool and the sea

United KingdomVery few restaurants close by and Amed itself is a 30 min scooter ride away. As with much of Bali nothing is walkable.
The views of the sea and the refreshing breeze on the balcony. It was a great location to catch up on some travel admin and do some snorkelling. Staff were very friendly and on hand if you needed anything. Breakfast cooked for you on the balcony was a real treat.

AustraliaThere is some fairly major construction over the road which meant daily noise & dust. Will be better once this is finished.
Modern Villa that still had lots of charm, amazing private outdoor area/deck and view. Lovely staff and a great warung attached that serves very tasty food. Cute pool. Was great to have a large water dispenser available to save on plastic consumption. You do need a scooter in this location, it is quite far from the main Amed town & the best snorkelling locations.

AustraliaLoved our stay! Fantastic spot overlooking the ocean. Sunrise from your balcony. Excellent pool, only 5 rooms so a quiet and peaceful property. The large patio was the best outside the room. Made’s Warung next door served delicious food, must go and try! A Scooter needed if you want to see Amed village, 20mins away + more food options. Would 100% stay again.

AustraliaThe only mirror for the villa is in the bathroom, which is not fully enclosed - which is not a problem it keeps the bathroom well ventilated but at similar outside temperature so it gets a bit warm etc... Easy fix... put a mirror inside.
Despite 2.5hr drive and the location is in between villages, our stay was at Arungun Villas was delightful. Our villa is in the first row from the street/road, with the elevation you still have sea views but... as it's the only road in and out of Amed/Lipah etc, it can get busy and you hear the passing traffic from the verandah. Also, currently, there is major construction of villas directly across the road and they make major construction noise from 830-530pm. Aside from the noise factor, the villa feels private, you have blinds to cover the entrance for privacy, the villas are freestanding and it's what you see in the pictures. We loved the wide and spacious verandah with kitchenette, dining and sitting area. We spent many afternoons sitting there watching life... and the construction workers as it get the cool breeze from the coast. The fridge was not very cold, and did not keep beers icy cold, we popped them into the freezer. The bedroom was basic, the room size was ok did not off give spacious vibes like the rest of the villa, no luggage rack, had a vanity table. The bed was Bali firm, still comfortable to get restful sleep. The bathroom is spacious, not fully enclosed, and therefore well-ventilated. I saw a few mosquitos but never got bitten. Good water pressure from the shower and had good supply of very hot water. The staff were lovely, and friendly and they kept our villa clean every day. We ate next door at Made's with a Sea view regularly and ate at the Trattoria a 3-minute walk away. There are lots of food options, from warungs to restaurants but are mostly >10min walk and wouldn't suggest walking too far at night as streets are not well lit and have many pot-holes. Strongly recommend hiring a scooter to get around. Highly recommend Kadek, the massage therapist who comes to your villa. We had several couples massages from her and her colleague. They bring foam mattresses and massage you on the floor or your villa.

AustraliaThere wasn’t much of a reception area which made talking to the staff sometimes a bit difficult. We tried to contact the staff using the WhatsApp number provided about doing some laundry and never received a response. The property is a bit further away from the main Amed area but having a scooter made it easy to get into town.
We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed waking up to the beautiful ocean view every morning. The villa was clean and spacious, particularly the outdoor balcony space. The staff were helpful in organising scooter and snorkel equipment for us.

AustraliaThis isnt actually anything to do with Arungan Villas, but some of the beaches in the area have a lot of rubbish - which is heartbreaking! But go to Coral beach for the most beautiful clean, clear water and best snorkelling - fish everywhere!
Waking up to the most stunning sunrise & seeing all the fishing boats heading out on the ocean was a treat! The gardens are gorgeous...the staff so friendly and helpful. will definitely be visiting again :) thank you to everyone at arungan villas for making our holiday so so happy :)
