How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I could not get the safetybox working, even after asking help from front desk.
All was fine. Nice staff and good facilities. Very good value for money (around 50USD/night net). Since my family lives close by I like the location..

Bed is extremely hard. Room was not very clean, lots of dirty spots on the furniture.
Friendly staff. Good location near mall. Nice pool with children’s area and a good gym.

A lot of noise from other rooms until late in the night and very early morning. Didn't accommodate a later check out at 1pm despite staying there on a regular basis.
Breakfast was about the same everyday but was manageable. Shortage of staff. Had Nexflix etc.

We booked way in advanced. However, 2 out of 3 booked rooms were on the smoking floor. And we don’t smoke. The room had quite a bad smoke smell.
Property looked good and was clean.

They only had smoking rooms available, so we were pretty much forced to accept the smoking room, even though we had specifically requested a non-smoking room. Additionally we had 3 rooms split across 2 floors. There's a few mosques nearby which will sound the call to prayers around 5am each day and the sound does come into the room through the windows.
The staff at Novotel was extremely accommodating and friendly. The hotel facilities were good with a decent pool and pretty good food offerings for breakfast. Location wise they're not too far from a shopping mall and there's a convenience store just across the road.

Someone was in our room before we check out, I went back after breakfast and he was there for a ‘room check’— this was not ok

Windows and walls have zero soundproofing. Breakfast buffet to limited choice. Way below standard when you charge 1 million idr per night

Bathroom smells like pee ( smiles stronger when it’s wet) and gave only 2 bath towels , 2 foot towel, no hand or small towel. Towels doesn’t smell clean like bleach or clean. Color dirty white too. Old towels type. Shower is very high up and can’t adjust the shower type. Only gave 1 key to room. While it’s needed for power. Hotels gives creepy vibes on hallway. Lots of mosquitoes in the lobby.
Located pretty convenient,

I haven been bitten by some ants and mosquito in the room for 6 nights. The air conditioning was issue in the final night of my stay.
I like the cafeteria in hotel.

The location is a bit quite a traffic jam on the main road in front of the hotel.

the water pipes were very loud, and I couldn't sleep because as people woke up at 4am to breakfast, I was also awake because of the sound of constant water going down the pipes.
Breakfast spread was amazing with plenty of local options.

It is my first time in the hotel, but I have certainly had a wonderful experience, I will come back again whenever I visit the city. The room was great although I chose the simplest one, Breakfast was great with a wide variety, Spa and swimming pool are well maintained. SkyLounge with a great view of the area. Above all, the amazing staff, especially Berta, Guest Loyalty Executive.

The facility was great unfortunately I'm not happy with the staff (receptionist guy) I check in late night and suddenly I had an emergency things to do and leave an earlier check out around 2am or 3am couldn't remember clearly last week and the receptionist guy asking for the receipt for the deposit, I said I'll leave it can't be asked when I'm in Hurry to leave. I left the receipt in my bedroom upstairs he should be let me pass and give it to me the deposit it's not about the money it's about sympathy and loyalty to the customer as he knew that we put the deposit down before check in and we were only staying in there about 4 hours or could be less Over all we've been staying in 5 Star hotels around Indonesia never been so disappointed Hopefully you guys could treat the customers better in the future thanks .
New Destination in our areas.
