Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe only thing I found difficult was that the breakfast room was a long way from my room up a lot of steps but I just used it as extra exercise. This was just a minor issue and really not worth mentioning as the breakfast was worth it.
The staff were so friendly at Biyukukung Suites and Spa and were willing to cater for any questions I had. My room was cleaned daily and so close to all amenities that Ubud has to offer.

CanadaMy bamboo house was quite far from the reception area. Thanks to the porters for carrying my many suitcases. Also, bedroom was on second floor, so most of my luggage had to stay on the main floor. I was next to a restaurant and it was quite loud most of the time…not the zen experience I thought it would be. There was a big rodent who spent time in my garbage can trying to get a wrapper out, but then ate part of my banana.
Friendly staff, very good spa facilities/services. Quaint concept but had a lot of challenges.

AustraliaNot actually a double bed just 2 singles pushed together, you can feel the springs push into you and the edge of the single mattress, the shower pressure wasn’t good and would sometimes have barely any water coming out, the shower drain got blocked but was resolved within the day, one of the guests was naked on the balcony in the view of the pool and other guests
The location, scenery is good and wildlife, mosquito net

SwedenWe stayed in a bamboo bungalow and it was very hot on the days we were there. Unfortunately the AC located in the top floor wasn’t strong enough to pump the cool air down to the second floor so it got very hot inside during the day.
Amazing views, cute bungalows and helpful and friendly staff. Lovely with different pools. Felt like waking up in the countryside!

SloveniaNot all the bamboo houses have rice field view, so be aware when booking.
Great place that feels like you are far in the country side, but is actually in the center of Ubud. Walking distance to Monkey forest and downtown shopping and restaurants. Place has 3 swimming pools and small restaurants where you can get snacks for decent price.

United KingdomI stayed in both the bamboo house (newer part) and the traditional cabins on the other side. Although bamboo is newer and nicer (specially the balcony) I have to say the bathrooms are better in the cheaper cabins and they are less noisy too. Bamboo has stunning views and you can tell they are newer but the noise from the neighbours was insane. You could even hear them going up and down the stairs (the steps) and as I said… shower curtains were dirty and overall I think bamboo house bathrooms can be improved. But all good in general.
The views of the rice fields were one of a kind, I visited many other hotels and home stays to check if I found something better within the same price range and I couldn’t. The rooms are bright and with wonderful views, something you won’t find easily elsewhere in central Ubud

Great location with all of Central Ubud in walking distance. Close to the Yoga Barn and lots of cafes, restaurants and shops. Quiet, away from traffic noise. A choice of accommodation types and pools amidst rice terraces. Room cleaned every day. Great laundry service. Good choice of breakfast including Indonesian.

United KingdomShower seemed to have a funny smell and possibly had rust coming out in the water. Selected a bamboo house with ‘garden view’ but I think this just meant it didn’t have a rice paddy view, as in reality we were looking at the back of another bamboo house.
Very good central location but peaceful.

IndonesiaThe bamboo huts are a bit of a walk from reception so check for proximity if walking a problem. Did not like the breakfast. But there are awesome cafes with the most delicious options, easy walk.
It is in the most beautiful setting, (rice field/gardens) traditional alang alang (straw roof) bamboo structure. Excellent a/c. Choice of swimming pools. So close to walk to monkey forest, central location - shopping, cafes.
