Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Gorgeous cottage in a beautiful tropical garden setting amid the rice fields about 15 mins north of Ubud central. We stayed for 6 nights and found it the perfect place to relax and soak up the serenity. It was a short walk to various restaurants, all overlooking the picturesque rice fields.Fantastic staff who were very friendly, happy and helpful. Breakfast was simple and delicious . It's also only a short 10min Grab ride into town or you can hire a scooter. Pool was lovely and very clean. Buda, the owner often stops by for a chat and is very happy to help with anything you need .

AustraliaHonestly, there was absolutely nothing to complain about.
The staff were very friendly & accommodating. Rooms immaculately clean, LoVed the netting above the bed. Gardens, so beautiful... lush, green & tropical. You might see the staff actually hand picking out the weeds! Pool was perfect for a quick dip, to cool off & it's right in the middle of the resort. Very fortunate that my room overlooked the pool. Whilst staying it's like your own private little village, nice to have a quite day of relaxation or end each day here in the tranquillity. My background is resort management in Australia & I was super impressed with the presentation of the property, the professionalism of the staff & the quality of food & plating. I'm a bit fussy when it comes to food, vego & gluten free, breakkie was simple, fresh & delicious, all served promptly with a smile, & enjoyed whilst overlooking the gardens, pool or valley below. The location is a quick taxi or scooter trip into town. Which is a bonus as it's rural & lovely & peaceful. A nice escape from the hustle & bustle of Ubud, yet still so close to whip into town or go & enjoy some or the fantastic cafes & attractions. A scooter ride with driver & tip starts around $2 depending on where your heading. Family owned, Buda himself on-site most days & more than happy to assist with anything you need. Mum also drops by, & you may see her in ceremony blessing the resort. They also can organise your tours & transport. Buda himself drove me on my transfer to Sanur Harbour. He also helped me organise the ferry across to Nusa Penida plus transport once on the island. I know I have pretty high standards, especially given my background in tourism. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys, they were also very accommodating when I had a change of plans. You can tell the resort is just so LoVed & I would highly recommend both the staff, accommodation & location.

SpainEvery morning when we woke up, there were lots of dead ants in the kitchen and in the terrace. It's something you expect in this side of the world, but had to mention it. (They cleaned the room everyday, that's a plus :)) Also, there's construction work going on nearby at the moment (October 2024), so you can hear it during the day (tho it's a pretty common thing in Bali, they are building everywhere).
The place is beautiful and well looked after. Little hidden oasis. Common areas (pool, restaurant) are really cozy, and the room is really convenient with the kitchen inside. Bed really comfy. Even though it's not walking distance to the center, the area's got a lot of little restaurants and cafes you can go to without making it to downtown. And if you do decide to go, the grab motorbike trip is really cheap.

United Kingdomit was all lovely
The hotel was lovely, the breakfast was delicious, they came into clean every day and they even bought me cake with a candle in it for my birthday which was such a lovely surprise. I can’t fault it at all. The pool was also really clean and refreshing. The location is good too, you are far enough out of the centre for it to be quiet but you are only a 10-15min grab ride in, depending on traffic

United KingdomSometimes there were ants in the room which wasn't huge problem but could be paid attention to.
Gorgeous hotel and gardens + pool area. Has rice fields surrounding the are of the hotel where all toads and birds wake up to life at night and you can hear them making cute noises when sleeping. Very peaceful stay. Staff was very sweet, helpful and humble, they asswus with any request we had. Breakfast was tasty, I recommend the Omelette and banana pancake most. Comfortable bed, perfect for 2. There are some Warungs and cafes walking distance away that you can enjoy dinner or coffee at.

United KingdomWalls to the bungalows a little thin but this did not effect our enjoyment as our neighbours were quiet. Bearing in mind the budget price I can’t complain. A real hidden gem of a place, for the price.
We had a lovely staff at buda cottage. Clean comfortable family run small hotel. Tranquil setting and a lovely pool. Note the location is just outside main ubud central high street but an easy cab ride about 10-15 minutes. The owner, mr buda, was very helpful and helped us organise our excursions and everything went exactly to plan. Breakfast was just right fur it’s - an omelette followed by fruit. Very pleased with the venue location and itinerary for a brief 3 night stay in ubud. And exceptional value for money. Highly recommended.

FranceThe location is beautiful, but a bit farther from Ubud center. You will not be able to walk, but if you rent a scooter or book a taxi, it's fine.
It's beautiful. All the staff is extremely nice and helpful. We could rent a scooter for a good price. The scrambled eggs at breakfast were good, as was the coffee. They will arrange activities for you if you ask them. We booked an amazing cooking class as well as a taxi to Kintamani.

SloveniaMain doors of cottage don't block the outside noise, so it depends on the neighbours how peaceful your sleep will be but we didn't have a problem. 🙂
The location was perfect for us, close to Ubud but far away enough for peaceful stay. The breakfast was delicious. The staff is very friendly. They cleaned the cottage, made bed and took trash every day. The pool was very nice. They offer a lot of activities and give you advices. We rented their scooter and explored the island. Best holiday! 😊

Very nice accomodation, beautiful garden. Everything was clean. Breakfast was well prepared. Location was peaceful and you need 10min ride by car to Ubud center. The owner (Buda) was very kind to reccommend us amazing local guide Komang Indra who speaks good English and can explain a lot about Balinese tradition and religion.

AustraliaNot really an issue, but if you have a car, parking in the area is extremely slim. The designated parking spot for the accommodation is on a sloped concrete pad right next to the road.
A short walk from the road through some rice fields leads you to the beautiful Buda Cottage, Ubud. The garden setting is gorgeous, and the rooms are clean, modern, and air-conditioned. The pool was always cool and great to cool down. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Buda Cottage is located ~15 minutes from Central Ubud by motorcycle, so it's far away from the loud noises, but close enough so a trip into town isn't Frodo's journey into Mordor. Price is very reasonable too.

If you’re looking to be just outside of Ubud, quieter location, still with excellent local restaurants and coffee nearby, this is a great option! 10 min scooter to Ubud. I hired a Grab and did daily visits to Ubud.

LebanonI stayed for 2 weeks here and it was very comfortable, except for some small incidents with insects and frogs, but you are in the middle of the jungle, so can't complain, it is part of the Ubud life.
If you are looking for a place a bit far from the centre, calming, overlooking the rice terraces, jungle like vibes, and a great value of money, then think no further! Buda is so helpful and he ensures that guests feel comfortable! Great value of money, 10 to 15 mins scooter drive to the center, depending on traffic and great to be away from noise and chill. Breakfast is so tasty and the pool is nice. Rooms were kept tidy and clean every day.

United StatesI loved it all!
I stayed for 23 days and I felt like home. I am a woman solo traveler and Buda and the staff were incredible. Absolutely no noise, beautiful property, only 8 min my motor taxi to downtown Ubud and less than a dollar ride. I would come back in a heartbeat. I would come back to stay there for sure. Also, I had to work some days and the internet worked well. Thank you to all the staff of this beautiful stay, you all were amazing and caring! Highly recommend this stay.

GermanyApart from the nice smelling bed linens and towels the place was not the cleanest, moldy stains on the wall next to the bed, dust and dirt in corners that are not in plain sight. Very thin walls, I heard every word from my neighbours tv shows, but I guess that really depends on your neighbour. The scooter I got from them felt quite wobbly and not super safe, but they didn’t have another one when I told them and you really need one when staying here.
Beautiful little hotel with a nice garden and communal/restaurant area, clean pool, hidden away inbetween rice fields. Very quiet, only 10 minutes by scooter from Ubud. Owner and staff weere nice and helpful. Best smelling bed linens and towels I’ve had on my trip:) Can recommend for 1-2 quiet nights away from Ubud‘s hustle and bustle.
