Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsOwner and employees are super helpful and kind. Nice, clean room, hotel is very well maintained. Hotel is easy to find and located on a peaceful (motorcycle+car free 💙) street. Lovely dogs. Wonderful view of the harbour from the deck.

BulgariaVery nice people! Will help you with everything you need. Authentic atmosphere with no stres at all! Perfect starting point for Komodo Island boat trips. The terrace offers a great view over the harbor. We are happy to have had the chance to meet Retty and her team! Bless them!

United StatesWe liked the local, authentic and car free neighborhood, but it may not be for everyone. Pool is only a small dipping square and felt too warm to refresh so we passed as did others. Dogs ignored us and were sweet enough, but again, may not suit all.
Very well run and friendly place on car free stretch of LB waterfront. Comfortable, but small room, with great AC. Second level breakfast and social area has views and is very pleasant. Breakfast was very good. Good hostel bar and restaurant very close and good restaurants up on the Main Street.

We spent 6 days at Cool Breeze Hotel and thoroughly enjoy our stay. The place is very nice, in a quiet area without cars or scooters. Everything is done to make you feel good. The room is small but nicely decorated and very clean. Good wifi and AC. You can enjoy your breakfast on the beautiful terrace overlooking the sea. The courtyard is full of plants, flowers and there is a nice little pool. And if you want to join an excursion or have a massage, trust the staff: they'll organise everything for you with no extra charge. And they drove us back to the airport, something we were not expecting... Thank you all at Cool Breeze Hotel for making our stay such a nice experience.

MalaysiaWater pressure for shower was inconsistent, strong and weak at the same time. Location is difficult to access by car. Needed to walk down small alleyways to get to the entrance of the hotel. Would be nice if they had pick up service at the main road.
Truly live up to being a BOUTIQUE hotel. Very quaint and welcoming. A lot of thought was definitely put into making our stay a very pleasant one. Very clean, comfortable with well equipped facilities and we had everything we needed. Free coffee and fantastic breakfast!

AustriaRoom size and water pressure are not overwhelming, but perfectly fine.
Everyone is very kind and helping. The owner speaks perfectly English, so there are no problems of understanding. They also have a very cute dog plus a very caring (for the other one) dog. Very sweet. Pool is not really big enough for swimming, but nice to dip in and cool down. Breakfast also was very good and nicely prepared. And they have some board games and a good restaurant just around the corner. Sunset from there looks breathtaking. Thanks a lot for all your help, kindness and the nice stay.

RomaniaBe careful if you arrive after sunset. It's quite hard to find the place in the first time. By day it's not a problem. We had the help of Retty, our host, that kindly brought us from the airport, though this service was not provided.
I will always remember the wake up mornings with that astonishing view on the terrace. This is a cosy boutique hotel waterfront. The hosts are really nice, welcoming you like home. Retty even helped us from and to the airport. We travelled with 2 kids and booked the family rooms upstairs. The room space is good, very well organized, clean. They changed the towels daily and made the beds. Continental breakfast was delicious: fresh local fruit, home-made yoghurt, scrambled eggs, toast, butter and jam, complimented by water and coffee at any time, any hour. We booked a full day trip by speedboat to Padar Island, Komodo Island, Pink Beach, snorkelling with manta ray and turtles (1,350,000 Rps each). They also helped us with a driver to the island to explore some beaches and a waterfall. Hosts speak very well English and help you with everything. We ate at a restaurant near by, before walking the bridge, much more cheaper than in city center and very good food ( 100k Rps a tuna BBQ steak with rice included). We used the pool daily, the kids were playing there a lot during the evening, before going to dinner. They provided towels, wonderful lush garden and a fridge full of beer and soda, in case we forgot to buy. The hotel neighbours have small shops where you can buy small items (snacks, drinks). Kids are playing in the street, there's a peaceful vibe and totally natural compared to Bali, where we felt it was all very touristic. Labuan Bajo is a genuine place, under construction and development, people there smile natural, they don't drag you to buy something from them, you feel safe and cosy everywhere. Try Labuan Bajo more than Komodo trip, it's worthy and Cool Breeze is quite an authentic place to spend your holiday also with kids. I truly recommend it.

United KingdomThe dogs bark a lot, and at you when you arrive making it a little uncomfortable at times.
The location is fantastic close to everything, and within walking distance to town. The property is charming, lovely rooms, with slightly dated bathrooms but they are all clean and functional. The staff are helpful and we really enjoyed our time there. I would recommend staying there to everyone.

United StatesIt wasn’t the place’s fault, but on the last day, the guest staying in the next room smoked a lot, and all the clothes we left on the terrace smelled so bad. I could even smell it in some parts of our room. Maybe if smoking were only allowed on the common terrace, this wouldn’t happen. Just a suggestion—I still love the place!
It’s really close to the harbor. The place is really nice, they have a small pool to relax in after a long day. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast sooo good!

United KingdomNothing at all. I had an excellent stay.
This is a superb place to stay. The location is wonderful - being over the bridge it's away from the traffic, but still close enough to the hub of Labuan Bajo for convenient trips into town. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and offer a great insight into the local area. I had a great chat with the owner, and a free ride to the airport. They were also extremely understanding following a booking mistake.

NetherlandsWe had a great time at Labuan Bajo, partly thanks to our stay at the Cool Breeze hotel. In fact after we stayed here for the first few days we came back after staying at a resort for a few days. And we were quite happy that there was still a room available the second time. The hotel itself is a relatively small hotel with a cozy and homy feel and we felt very comfortable during our stay. The rooms are tidy and the bathroom is clean. The bed is comfortable and the room includes all the necessities one needs. There are two breakfast options either (Asian) nasi goreng or (continental) fresh bread with scrambled egg and spread. Both options include fresh fruit and yogurt with granola. Since a lot of tours and trips around Labuan Bajo start very early the staff can prepare a take-away breakfast at a time of your request which will be ready for you the next morning. The staff is very friendly and helpful. In addition they speak good English. During our stay we got to talking with the owner who happens to be Dutch and it was nice to talk our native tongue during our holiday. The owner is a very friendly lady who gave us good tips about the island. With the help of the owner we had an awesome snorkeling-tour with local fisherman who are basically her neighbors. We honestly feel that among all the (commercial) tours and trips Labuan Bajo has to offer, the local tour with the fisherman was the most unique and memorable trip we had. We really recommend this trip to anyone who is reading this. So please do ask the staff or owner about this. (In addition also ask about out the other options to support the local community and the people who are actually living in Labuan Bajo).

BrazilHowever, I do feel the pricing is disconnected from the reality of the country and region. That was the only reason we were a bit disappointed, as it is a good homestay but still feels modest for what it charges unfortunately.
This place is very well put together. The rooms are small, but the layout and furniture are so thoughtfully organized that it makes unpacking and feeling at home easy. The staff ensures you have all the information and assistance you may need, which makes a big difference! We felt very welcome there, so thank you so much! Also, It’s also close enough to walk to downtown.
