Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainIt would be nice to have a filtering machine upstairs, so you do not need to go to the reception to refill your bottles.
It's not bad for a budget-friendly accommodation. The spacious room has a wardrobe, closets for unpacking, and a bathroom for your products. The staff is friendly but not super friendly. The location is okay, but it's definitely noisy if you are on the side of the shortcut. You will survive if you have good earplugs for sleep, though. Generally, traffic and noise stop at 11 p.m., max. I liked the balcony. There is a restaurant where you can either have breakfast or a meal, but personally, I think with all the offers, they are within walking distance. I can't see the interest in staying in the same place, but it's a personal point of view. It's definitely well-located.

MalaysiaThe shower head in the toilet needs to be fixed due to uneven water distribution. The light in the toilet also needs to be fixed as it is flickering. The door for our room is a bit hard to lock and open.
Room is clean, bright and comfy. Great location as it is within walking distance to the busy streets. Host is friendly and they prepare nice breakfast during our stay. Breakfast is awesome as fruit platter/fruit juice is included other than the main course and beverage. Host is very helpful to even help me to call my grab driver as I left my umbrella in the car. They even lend me umbrella when I requested for it.

This is a very quaint, simple 'no fuss' guest house with a beautiful garden surrounded by the guest rooms. Great value for the money !! Location is accessible to crowded tourist-type shops as well as high end souvenir, boutique and restaurant choices.

SwitzerlandThere was a bit of a weird smell in the hallway, and the AC, even though they tried to fix it wasn't really working like it was supposed as even when I put it at the minimum of 18 degrees I still felt warm. But other than that I would recommend the place!
The staff was very helpful and accommodated us with our requests and change of plans every time. The pancakes were really yummy, the room was spacious, the location was great, also conveniently located next to a delicious vegan restaurant.

AustraliaAs usual, this is Bali, so it's not perfect. Travellers should always know there is some building work going on...it's hard to escape it. Just have to accept a slight inconvenience now and then. With so many local people capitalising on tourism, you'll find construction close by - no matter where you choose to stay. This might seem trivial, but despite a lovely room, free water and cups, saucers and coffee and tea, there as no kettle for hot water. We had to ask for a flask of hot water.. which is OK but at 9pm when you want a nice cuppa, it's troublesome to ask for a flask. So I bought a USD$10 electric kettle from Bintang Supermarket - worth every cent. The internet is terrible - could not watch any movies or upload my work - it took forever and was always dropping out. Could have been the room location, but even our Telekom sim cards were failing. The entry door net curtains could do with a wash too - showing signs of way too many grubby hands opening them over the last few months. Apart from that - everyone has their own standards, and these are just my personal views.
Good location in the centre of Ubud, just off Hanoman St and Jl Sugriwa. A little laneway (gang) connects the 2 streets together - a nice little short cut. The location is close to everything, so if you're a first timer to Ubud, it's pretty good. Jl. Sugriwa is a one way street, and work has been going on to replace the drains running down both sides of the street. Some work needs to be done, so you might hear the odd hammering or drilling going on (typical for Ubud - as it seems to be a constant building site on most streets these days). We stayed at Gatra years back and it has not changed much. They have 9 rooms, with 4 upper storey rooms (there may be another one not sure). The rooms are clean and airy, bright and beds comfy. Bathroom was big, although the shower is showing signs of age with discoluration on the walls - nothing new tiles won't fix. Breakfast was nice, good omelette and fruit plate, plus coffee. Nice to have a complimentary breakfast. Staff serving brekkie are lovely - very polite and always attentive. Air con is cold and very welcomed in the hot humidity of November. Floors are porcelain tiles,, so very cool under foot.

SingaporeBreakfast was very simple and plain tasting. There's no kettle in the room, however we can request for a thermos flask of hot water. Toilet has an odour as ventilation is very poor. There's only a small little window in the toilet which does not provide enough ventilation. Pillows are too soft and lumpy.
Room is reasonably spacious. I like the firm mattress.

SingaporeThe lighting in the bedroom and bathroom is a bit dim if you are used to bright lights. There is no TV in the room if you are expecting to stay and laze in the room with a drink. Perhaps you are expected to be out the whole day in Ubud and come only to sleep or to stay away from Technology... if its your thing during holidays. Anyway these are not deal breakers, but just dont expect these stuff to be available as default in the rooms and btw its not the property's fault, as TV and electric kettle are not listed in the available facilities. (Time to read the fine print of facilities). Same breakfast items tends to get boring after 2 days, but u have a choice to eat outside in the various warungs (roadside food stalls) with a variety of local Indonesian food.
A quiet cosy hotel in Ubud. Its located centrally within walking distance of Ubud palace and market. Lots of Warungs nearby for cheap local food. The property is quite small with about 10 rooms but the Staff are nice and helpful with all requests and make up for the lack of many facilities - Eg. You dont get an electric kettle in the room, but the staff provide hot water flasks instead. Every room gets a nice spacious balcony with a table and couple of chairs. Breakfast provided is a basic choice of American, Continental & Indonesian. You have to choose either one of those on the previous day.

PolandIn compare to other places in Bali the staff is rather indifferent. The breakfast was quite generic - only three options available so it’s ok for two days but could be boring in a long run …
The location of this hostel is great! Five minutes to the Ubud Palace, ten minutes to Monkey Forest, many shops and bars around!
