Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot so much of a dislike, but be aware that the hotel is not accessible by car. You get to it via a path, 3 mins walk from the road. The hotel will transfer your luggage if required
Beautiful accommodation, stunning gardens and room. Right next to paddy fields and open countryside 5 min walk from the hustle and bustle of Ubud

United StatesGreat location in a busy area with lots of restaurants nearby, but then you walk up the passageway to the property and suddenly you’re in the rice fields, and it’s so serene, quiet and beautiful. Lovely view from the balcony. Staff were amazing. I’d return in a heartbeat.

AustraliaNothing! Everything was amazing… however just be aware there is a walk from main road to hotel We booked a sunrise tour and had to be on main road at 2am… this felt a little hairy walking the walk at 2am cause private car can’t drive up to lobby… so if you have mobility issues or kids might not be the best …but everyone else will be LOVING this place!
Ok so this place was a beautiful surprise for us …as I was NOT expecting it to be sooo amazing. The photos on booking.com really do NOT do this place justice. The pools were amazing and nature / gardens surrounding are just the most superb, blissful sanctuary and perfectly balanced in every way. We were lucky enough to have a room on ground level so when we open our block out curtains we saw the MOST incredible view of pools and garden with frangipani tree and flower vines hanging off it. With a gorgeous little balcony table and chairs we also got to eat breakfast here with this view every morning of our stay. Beds (twin ) huge and so comfortable probably nearly the MOST comfortable of our whole 14 day trip at 4 different hotels . Breakfast= amazing . Staff= amazing . Cleanliness = amazing! The only 2 small things I would suggest are ; tiniting on the ground floor pool view rooms would be an investment so guests get privacy looking out with view of garden and pool all the time and guests outside can’t see in to rooms( like we had at another high ended resort we stayed in Bali ) Adding a little door sign to each room that has the choice “ Do not disturb” / “ make up my room” on each side would be great . Thank you again Gynandha Ubud Cottages! Can’t wait to see you again.

United StatesThe wifi in the room was not quite strong enough to do video calls for work and made working quite slow. If that's not a worry for you, then the wifi is plenty fine.
This majestic spot is close to everything in center yet tucked away from the busyness! Many have commented on it being a bit difficult to access, which is fair, particularly if mobility is an issue for you. If not, the tucked away nature of it adds to the magic. There is a path through the rice fields in the back which is a lovely walk and brings you right to center. The hotel grounds are stunning, so lush and beautifully maintained! The staff is wonderful. The bed is comfy! Great choice if you want to be close to center but also have your peace!

ChileThe room is really confy and very tidy! The locations is also very good cause its in town but very quite, you really feel like you are outside sll the caos of ubud centre. But the best by far is the staff they were all very kind and very helpfull on our last day our flight was quite late and they alloe us to leave our luggage and even take a shower just before leave, I would definitely recomend this place!

South KoreaThe motorcycle doesn't go right in front of the hostel, so I have to walk about 3 minutes. Taxis can only stop far away from the hostel, but don't worry if you have luggage, the hostel will pick you up :) And the bedding was a little moldy.
The place was great - beautiful exterior and really friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Ubud again.

United KingdomThere is very little to dislike! Some people might find the 5 minute walk to the town along a concrete pathway and drainage channel difficult, often shared with a scooter and a bit steep at the end, but it was safe and well lit at night. In the rain it had puddles so we needed footwear that could get wet.
It was quiet and relaxing, away from the chaos of Ubud’s dreadful traffic noise and pollution. We had a room on the top floor which was private and with a nice view and the big balcony was lovely, even when there was monsoon like rain for 2 days. The staff were wonderful; always helpful and even when there was nothing for them to attend to they seemed to find work such as tidying the plants or sweeping. Our cases were collected and returned to the road by scooter for our taxi drop off and collection, easily organised on WhatsApp. Breakfast was booked the night before from a list and was beautifully presented - especially the smoothie bowl. The pool was clean, warm and wonderful! At night there were dance shows in the temple nearby and we had the gamelan music playing in the background from our room. Our laundry was organised by the hotel but the launderette is only a short walk away and was the same price as the hotel charged. There is direct access to the field behind and in the evenings you can walk out of the back of the property and watch a magical display of beautiful fireflies! Wonderful places to eat such as an almost hidden tandoori restaurant at the end of the walkway that had a lovely garden.
