Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe kindness and hospitality of Harry, Mimin, and their staff and guides are exceptional. We visited during Ramadan and enjoyed learning about the culture and religion. Harry can help you book ferry tickets and rides. We also enjoyed swimming with whale sharks. A unique experience and guides do not chase the whalesharks, which is nice. We liked it so much that we stayed an additional night to visit Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park with guide Fajar. Fajar is great and very knowledgeable. We saw Maleo birds and many beautiful endemic kingfishers. We also had the best satay of the trip in Gorontalo! Only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!

United KingdomThe best hosts you could ask for. Harry, Mimin and the team took fantastic care of us on either side of a trip to the Togeans. This included helping one of us through a nasty ear infection picked up from diving; not only did they make sure to keep us fed, they helped us to arrange doctor’s appointments and translated for us at the clinic. They really went above and beyond and we are so grateful. The rooms are basic but they are comfortable and provide all the essentials you could need during your stay. If you are planning a stay in Gorontalo, look no further than Harry & Mimin. Thank you again for your kindness Harry, Mimin, and family :)

This is one of the best homestays we had in Sulawesi. Harry & Mimin can help organize tours such as snorkelling with whale sharks, a cooking lesson (recommended!) and onward transport including the Togean Island boat. Although rooms are basic that’s all that you need. Upon arrival after the night ferry they arranged breakfast for us.

But most important Harry and his wife help the local community. One night we sit with eachother and we discuss the way of life in Sulawesi, the religion matters and marriage etc. People with the heart on the right place. AustraliaHarry and Mimin are the best hosts and truly kind hearted people! We spent 3 days with Mimin and her family and we were very sad to leave. Mimin helped us book a cabin for the ferry to Wakai and went with us all the way from the homestay to inside the ferry to make sure everything was ok ❤️🙏 We had a beach day together with a karaoke lunch, we sang and danced and ate and had so much fun🥰 We went to the local market and did a cooking class with Mimin which was perfect and soooo delicious. Mimin sweetly packed up the leftovers for us to take on the ferry to Wakai because there is limited food available on the 13h ferry. If you stay with Harry and Mimin you see the heart and culture of Gorontalo, have fun and get the best advice and support for wherever your journey is going next.

GermanyDuring my stay, there was left over soap and heaps of hairs left in the bathroom from whoever was in the room before.
Hands down the nicest, most accommodating and helpful people I’ve met on my travels in Sulawesi. Mimin helped me with any booking or request, even managed to get my dive mask all the way from manado to una una. Outstanding. Rooms are comfortable and perfect for a short stint in gorontalo.

Hong KongSome mosquitoes come into the room through wall slits, might make sense to attach gaze to them.
I really liked the room with the shower and the huge, comfy bed, also a small table to work on. The breakfast was good, and I enjoyed the company of the people working there and the kids.

GermanyWe just stayed one night after coming from the Togian Islands but the owner Harry and Mimin are such lovely and welcoming people! As we didn't have a plan what to do that day we stayed with them and talked a lot, played games and went with Harry and Mimin to a Karaoke place at night. Such lovely and heartwarming people. Room was easy and with a shared bath but totally fine for one night. We left very early the next day (4:30 am) and still got some breakfast to go.

BelgiumJust to inform travelers, this is a homestay with homestay comfort and facilities. Do not expect everything to be super clean and perfect (shower was cold for instance), which was not a problem for us for 1 night but just better to know in advance. Regarding Gorontalo: In case you'd like to see the whale sharks be aware that it is a "feeding" activity which is not good for wild animals
We spent one night on our way to the Togian islands and it was a perfect stop-over with friendly hosts who could help us book our tickets to the ferry and answer all our questions ! We had breakfast and also lunch offered: thank you so much! Then Harry drove us to the ferry and helped us to board the ferry. Thank you Harry !!!
