How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Sadly the room wasn’t immaculate including the bed getting covered in dust by turning the fan on 😅 it was humorous at least!
The location is really second to none for things like the Campuhan Ridge walk, and some beautiful restaurants on the east side of Ubud, Zest, Alchemy and Plant Bistro to name a few!

The mattress wasn’t very comfortable and there were a lot of ants around the bed area

It didn't have a lot of options for breakfast, but the breakfast was super good. They could give free towels.
It was literally in the center, but It had a really good location in a small street without noises. The pool was perfect. It had a lot of common areas.

No AC on dorm rooms, only one fan. Because of the curtains couldn’t get fresh air and it was quite hot to have a good sleep.
Beautiful and comfortable with everything you need. And the swimming pool is an amazing extra.

Amazing hostel. The rooms, bathrooms and common areas were super clean and compfy. The staff was great, the vibe very welcoming and the location perfect, as its right next to the city center but out of the chaos of the main roads. I planned to stay for 3 nights and ended up staying 10!

Clean, pretty, and nice ambience. Friendly staff and nice people in general. I definitely recommend it, especially to solo travelers. Breakfast included is another plus.

Maybe the workers should start cleaning the dorm/rooms after breakfast hours in case someone is sleeping. Just a tip

It would be nice to have big lockers for the big dorm (there are only small lockers there so I stayed in the medium dorms), to have dorm door keys, and more extra bathrooms/ showers closer to the medium dorms as there is only 1 bathroom/ shower inside each dorm room for everyone to share and 1 bathroom/ shower next to the eating area
Liked it so much I extended! Beautiful and the whole property is very green with lovely plants and flowering trees, nice balcony, delicious breakfast (pancake, omelette, or noodles), friendly staff, big lockers in the medium dorms, a good vibe

The tour prices were slightly higher than of you book outside the hostel
The 6 bed dorm was actually 2 x 3 bed dorm with a door which made it even more private. Beer only 28k!!!

No social activities or anything going on. Very quiet hostel. The room doors don’t have locks or keys so anyone could come in.
The pool was nice, and the food was delicious. Good they have laundry on site to take this away for you & it was only 3,0000 IDR Good location, close to shops and everything.

Having to leave!
What can I say, this place is utterly fantastic. The staff are all very wonderful and lovely, the facilities are fabulous, the breakfasts and food in the restaurant is superb and the location, right in the middle of Ubud is perfect, yet the property itself is tucked away down an alley, behind an unassuming yet beautifully carved wooden entrance. As you step through the carved wooden doorway, In Da Lodge is a veritable paradise and oasis of calm in the middle of the city. I can’t recommend this place enough. 5*+++

Staff could've been a bit more friendly. The trips you can organize at the hostel are a bit pricy. The agency outside offers cheaper prices.
When I arrived in the garden I had such a great feeling. The hostel is very central, in the middle of all great restaurants and coffee cafés (my favorite lazy cats), and close to sweet Orange Walk, but still it's quiet. I also loved the swimming pool with a lot of space to relax. The rooms are also spacious and comfortable, as well as the showers. There's a great breakfast.
