Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThat we had to leave :(
Had the best stay! The location is lovely. Felt like a private little jungle escape and just walking distance from the busiest streets. We walked pretty much everywhere and returned home to our cozy private sanctuary. (Plus the owners done have roosters which is great for sleep!) magical balcony to sip coffee on and beautiful landscaping and small shrines throughout.

PhilippinesI really liked staying at Jero because it was closes to an authentic experience. People who are interested knowing a little bit more abut Ubud should consider staying here. First of all, the building is located inside a compound, which almost looked like a temple (and of course, it has one inside!). Ayu and Bagush, the hosts, gave us insights about Ubud and their culture, and we cherish that experience. Ayu also gave us tips on what to eat and what to visit, which are not found in internet reviews - so off-the-beaten track. The place is near our favourite walking trail, but is also not too far from the main Street in Ubud. Our favourite room was on the second floor of the building with a balcony, which gave us amazing views of the rooftops at dusk. The room was comfy and spacious and we felt super safe knowing that we are living in a family compound. It was a great stay! - Lea and Carol

Wonderful! Fantastic! Amazing! This was the best hotel we lived in Bali. The room was big and cozy, restroom was very clean and we finally had a hot bath. There was a beautiful traditional yard in the front and three little cute cats. The lady gave us free tea, fresh fruits and free pancake in the morning so that we can enjoy the beautiful view and breakfast. From here to ubud palace only took 7min walk, and very close to a lot of restaurants, shops, money exchange, and massage shops. The lady was so enthusiastic and helped me to pay the grab (of course I gave back the money later)

Excellent guesthouse, staff are ultra friendly, rooms are super comfortable. I recommend the suite with the bath. I'm nearly 1.9m and it was probably too big for me! If you are 2m you have no problem here! The water was also nice and hot. Breakfast very good. Owner fixed me up with my onward travel to Gili Islands! Much obliged. I'm looking forward to returning to Jero Griya Ubud!!

FranceEverything was fine! Maybe just the step in bathroom could be dangerous.
Beautiful and peaceful hotel in the center of Ubud. My room was big, clean, comfortable with a terrasse. The staff was very careful, helpful and nice. The breakfast is delicious and big. I felt like I was at friends' place. The hotel is 10-15 minutes from Ubud Palace and the art market. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, stores next to it.

AustraliaWe really enjoyed our stay here. Our host was a really kind and friendly lady who made us feel super welcomed. Our room was clean, and the bed was comfy. The best part was that they had some rescue kitties that you could pet (I was missing my cat, so that was great)

SingaporeThe owner/hostess Ayu is an amazing woman. Her hospitality was top notch, gave us a welcome drink, and provided a late checkout. She has also adopted a family of cats, and they are very docile and friendly. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-equipped. Air-conditioning is powerful and shower pressure is strong. This accommodation is away from the main street, hence it is quiet and relaxing. Breakfast is varied, and customisable. Ayu is a good cook and very conversant. Hear her stories!

The staff consists of local people who are very kind and helpful. The room is spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately, during my visit, I got sick from food poisoning (not from their food it's from another day before). However, the lady who manages the place frequently checked on me and brought me hot tea to help me feel better. And this place has 8 cute cats!

AustraliaOne of the lights was flickering and the Wifi was a bit patchy but only very slight criticisms.
A superb offering in a surprisingly quiet and peaceful part of Ubud, this is a hidden gem. Lovely owners who will show you the way, have a great chat and make your stay incredibly pleasant, a gorgeous design to both rooms and the entire precinct, and a pumping heart of culture, love and fun.

This was the accommodation in Bali where we were greeted with the warmest hospitality, almost as if we were family members. They always made sure we had everything we needed. The surroundings of the property were beautifully maintained, and our room had a little terrace where we enjoyed spending time. The cat family living here is incredibly adorable, and for cat lovers, it’s heaven on earth. Our room had all the amenities we could wish for, plus it’s very close to the town center, yet far enough from the hustle and bustle to relax and unwind. This accommodation is unbeatable in terms of value for money. If I were to go to Ubud again, I would choose this place again. Dear Jero Griya Ubud, thank you so much for the warm, family-like welcome. We left with wonderful memories from here.

United StatesThe only thing that could've been improved was the wifi but there was functional wifi so no complaints :)
This is such a nice place to stay - if you're looking for a more local experience and would like to chat to and hang out with people from Ubud, this is it. The family who runs Jero Griya are such incredibly warm and welcoming people and they helped me with booking things like the Mt Batur hike. The room I stayed in was nice - spacious with a good bed, a/c, shower, and a mini fridge. Breakfast was included for my stay, which was lovely. It's only a 7-10 minute walk to the center of town so it's not in the middle of the chaos but close enough to be convenient.

United StatesThe owners are wonderful! Very friendly, they offered us coffee or tea when we arrived, and next morning the owner showed and explained about the fruit trees in the property and gave several fruits for us to try. The fruits were much better than fruits purchased at the market or even the one I ate at hotels. Room was nice and clean, beds comfortable. Also very close to the Ubud Palace, 10 min walk.

KazakhstanThe only drawback I can note is that the doors to the balcony don't close tightly, which is why it gets stuffy as soon as you turn off the air conditioner. Small “guests” from the amimal world also come through these cracks.
Very hospitable owners, cozy and quiet atmosphere inside, despite the proximity of the central noisy streets with hard traffic. good breakfasts with a choice of dishes daily cleaning of rooms and change of towels air conditioning worked well, always hot water in the shower mini-fridge in the room to cool wine / beer / water / fruits a lot of cafes, restaurants, shops and street market within short walking distance We live on the second floor, in a room with a balcony, where you can relax and unwind in the evening when the heat subsides.
