Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Perubut it's a wet toilet, meaning there's no curtain in the bathroom. I lost something there in the storeroom, it was unexpected.
It's clean and the room is quite new. The bedsheet is comfortable.

Everything - The experience was solid. The owner is really pitted into adding value as a philosophy over viewing his guests as dollar signs. That way, he gets his dollar signs, and the guests are very very happy. We are one of them happy guests. Bike rental was critical in making the stay comfortable and truly wonderful, and the rental sub-connected to the owner's operation in Kokokan House is perfect - just walk outside to the garage to pick up your bike! Regular cleaning & replenishment of coffee and other free amenities, this place is a solid offering. One of the best places we stayed in Ubud and also Bali.

One of the best places I’ve ever stayed in Ubud! I ended up staying here for a month, and it truly felt like home. The room was perfect—super comfy, cozy, and just the right size for a solo traveler or a couple. About the road noise: I honestly don’t get why some people complain. If you’re super mega sensitive, maybe staying near any road isn’t the best idea, check always the location of where you are going so then you don’t blame the owner for not taking away the road for you. This isn’t even a main road, and local people live and work here—they need to move around and have their normal activities. Personally, it didn’t bother me at all and didn’t even felt it. The sounds of nature and animals really make the experience so much more authentic and special. Ubud has such a strong, magical vibe, and you can really feel it here. The owner is absolutely amazing! He’s hardworking, super kind, and always willing to help. He makes you feel so welcome and goes out of his way to communicate in English. One thing I really appreciated is that he never enters the room to clean without asking first or you don’t knowing, which is so respectful (most of places don’t ask, and it can feel uncomfortable). They also rent bikes here different styles of motorbikes and different prices so you can choose the best option for u, and the owner has a transportation service to pick you up or drop you off at the airport. The prices are totally reasonable, and it’s super convenient. It’s about 8–10 minutes from Ubud center, so check the location if being close is important to you. If not, renting a bike from him is really easy, and getting around is no problem. I’d 100% recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful away from the busy center. It’s surrounded by friendly locals, rice fields, cats, and even an egret sanctuary—such a perfect spot!

IndonesiaIt's a 1.5km drive from main street connecting to Ubud, so buy some drinks and foods before hand as in the nearby there are only local people's house. They charged hotel cost 2 days ahead, you met the owner who welcomes you on arrival but then not easy to meet hotel staff during the remaining stay. The owner's wife is around, praying and making offering, but not lots of interactions. Perfect for visitors who prefer to stay in and relax in peaceful surrounding without too many interactions.
Located directly inside the Kokokan village (bird sanctuary) on outskirt of Ubud, waking up you could see many birds roosting of the trees along the street in front of this family run hotel. It's quite new, less than 1 year old, total 5 rooms. Breakfast option to be ordered the night before, it was then prepared by a surrounding family, roughly 100m from hotel, delivered by motor bike, interesting experience (3 breakfast options: american, continental and indonesian breakfast, including fruits and coffee/tea, at IDR 50,000/pax). Great for 1-2 nights to relax or explore the surrounding, next to hotel there was a sign "Let's get lost" pointing to a small street heading to the forest, but we didn't try it this time. Around 5 minutes walk to the left of main street, there is a village office, walk inside, and you could find an elevated platform for bird viewing.

United KingdomIt was such a wonderful stay at Kokokan House! The owners are amazing they really take care of you and make sure you have everything you need! The room is big with a large conformable bed and good AC. You are staying in a lovely village just outside Ubud (about 10 min bike ride) with a lovely nature and a variety of warungs nearby. There is also a very friendly cat who lives on the property who will greet you with a friendly meow when you come home. I booked 3 days and stayed for 5 as I loved it so much!!

AustraliaNot much I did not like. They forgot to provide mugs, and the local roosters start early - but that is all part of staying in a village.
Very clean, new. Good access to walking. Very comfortable bed. A glimpse of village life - able to watch the woodcarvers at thier work. The bird sanctuary is very close and convenient for great coffee and food.
