Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaService from the staff was very slow and lacking. Kitchen was closed for renovations so couldn't get dinner or breakfast on our last night and morning there. Needs to have a description on the booking apps about the 200 stairs that required to walk to access the hotel didn't know about them till after the booking and the hotel sent me a message.
Views were beautiful.

GreeceThey never mentioned the 200 stairs before you book that it is something you should be aware of ,if you have health problems or you are in a bad shape . The room smelled mold . Despite the fact that they say they will help with the luggage upon arrival or departure , we had to carry are own luggage since no stuff had been available upon check in and check out . In the night the tides can be very high , and the path that leads to the hotel can be risky for someone
The view really worthed the 200 staires to reach the accommodation . Perfect view of the ocean as well as the sounds in the night . The staff was friendly and kind . We really enjoyed taking our coffee in the balcony , with the monkeys making us company

PolandBreakfast, well it's there but ask for it early cause they may run out of bread and it is not the best what you can have anyways. Staff seemed bit disoriented and well it felt that they're bit understaffed or some flow of information is not working. Room walls and doors are thin so it might get bit noisy. In general it feels overpriced.
The view from the room was stunning. Room is nicely decorated though bit too small. Really nice beach, especially between the rocks where you can find a bit of privacy. In fact there is a lot of stairs but you do not need to be very athletic to be able to get in and out. There is luggage service guarnteed by the hotel so you do not need to carry that by yourself (those guys are real heroes).

HungaryThe stairs are being mentioned, but climbing them was really not easy. The sound of the waves crashing to cliffs can be scary, you can feel the accomodation shaking.
The view and the location is amazing, staff is very helpful, checkin went easy during after midnight. The restaurant next to Lecliff has really good menu. There are many many stairs which is a heavy work to take with the luggages even just going down, when we checked out, the staff offered help with the luggages which was life saver. The spot, the closure of the water and the waves is very unique.

BelgiumWe have read the comments about the stairs and underestimated it. There were 2 members of the staff that helped us with our luggage upon arrival but on the last day, we checked out at 6 in the morning and there was only 1 person at the reception. Thankfully we found someone on the stairs from the hotel nearby who helped us carry the luggage up the +150 stairs. So be sure to take some time extra into account when checking out, especially if you have big luggages. There was also a moisture smell in the room.
The view once you are in the room is very beautiful. You can go down and walk on the beach at sunset.

ThailandFacilities are definitely lacking. Menu is disappointing and there aren't many options for people with food allergies. Our first night we were informed there was no alcohol as they had ran out (we arrived on Tuesday). Would have appreciated a heads-up as running out to pick up a few things is very difficult in this location (so many stairs!)
The room was lovely and comfortable and the view was amazing. Sunsets from the patio were phenomenal. The cafe at Dream Surf is right next door and easily accessible- they have a great menu and live music in the evening.

AustraliaI counted 297 steps from my bed to the carpark. This is not a hotel for coming and going multiple times a day - the steps are a killer. I would have liked to have explored a bit more of the night life in Uluwatu, but the stairs were too much.
The rooms were stunning, the views were sensational.

United KingdomWe did read the reviews about the stairs and location before we booked, but we didn’t take it too seriously - however I really would underscore that it is extremely steep and lots of flights - hard to find and get to the hotel. Once you’re there it is great but it was hard work so you just have to be prepared.
The room was really nice, well furnished and a nice modern bathroom. Everything was clean and working. The view from the room and balcony was unbelievable, we loved it.

United KingdomThat i wasn't giving the room I paid for. The room was very small and slightly smelly. The coffee and tea were scarse, they ran out of juice, i.e orange, pineapple. There wasn't anywhere to hang/ store my clothes. Room service was hit and miss ... I could go on.... The staff were friendly and helpful 😁 .
The view.

United StatesThe number of stairs to reach the stay and the lack of a latch on the slider to the balcony. The monkeys were able to enter the room while we were away and ate/took some loose snacks, loose pills(set out the nighttime use, and took prescription bottles(which they were able to open, some were on the roof outside the room). Prescriptions included blood pressure medication, don't know if the monkeys survived as it was the day before departure.
The location on the water was great, along with sunsets.

United KingdomFood was really bad. The prospect of facing the stairs make you want to order from the hotel but it’s better just to go up to the main road.
Beautiful view from the room. But the reception staff were unhelpful and unfazed with service. The stairs didn’t bother me too much, you just go slowly.
