For me it was difficult that I had to climb so many uneven stairs to get to the street level. I think this should be noted as many people would struggle on the stairs especially at night.

The major plus point for me about Reggae Guesthouse is the fact that you can walk out of your room and straight in to the lake. This was lovely. I don't know if you can do that elsewhere. View is great, so sitting around on the bench doing nothing was lovely.

We had to go down/climb up stairs to go to our units. For teens/adults, it is ok. Perhaps if you are bringing elders & kids, can discuss with owner which room is suitable

The morning view of Lake Toba is so beautiful. The unit is very comfortable. Some of our units didn’t have fan, but it wasn’t hot at all. Hot shower, shampoo & soap are provided

Motor sound in the lake right in the morning, someone should limit the time after 10 am or take it more out the open not right in the shore. Stairs are bit hard to go if you are not so good condition.

Staff weren’t always present / didn’t seem to want to interact much. You can rent a motorbike from reggae but hub Tata next door has a cheaper deal so recommend talking with them instead.

The property is in a great location, right on the waterfront. Room was clean and comfortable.

The Batak house design, new experience but underneath the bed is dusty and got dropping of rat, other places is just fine. To get better grading please ensure you staff cjean the upper part of beam/pillar also and underneath the bed which is dusty and dust allergic customer won't be able to cope with it. The design is nice but some part of the wooden floor already got small holes, which can be sealed with minor carpentry repair ..it is believed there cat/rats bite from the ceiling of underfloor storey

The bathroom should be fixed with more hanging hooks.

We could step out of our room and jumped into the lake! Evening was magical, cool and moonlight reflected on the dark waters.

No drinking water was provided, though you could get water refills in bottles for a fee. The breakfast (not included) was quickly served (rare on Samosir!), though the coffee wasn't great. One of the rooms did not have a water heater at all in the shower, and the other room did have one but the pressure was low and the temperature inconsistent. The staff did not clean the rooms at all during our 4 day stay- but maybe this was necessary to ask for cleaning service? They have a platform on the lake that you can jump off, but one of the sides is dilapidated and submerged, the wooden diving board off the side of their property is splintering. Other than that, the location does not provide any water sports, whereas some of the other places have kayaks. We just walked to other places for water activities. We had to adjust our dates staying there because of the ferry service times +an early flight out but there was no refund or ability to adjust the dates on booking.com (this might be an issue with the Booking.com platform rather than the fault of the hotel). Overall I would still recommend it but realize it's basic and make sure you're getting a good price.

The views were incredible, and I loved the location. Peaceful, idyllic, lovely. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The ferry drops you right at the hotel-very convenient. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, access to laundry services (for a fee of course) and the hosts helped arrange motorbike rentals too.

This is a very basic simple budget room, but the view was magnificient. We slept with the sound of the waves slaping the cement. It was therapeutic. Nearby Huta Siallagan.

The first room we were allocated felt like a dungeon. However, the second room, after we asked to change was much better. The mattress was not comfortable and the room was not super clean.

Great location, very convenient with the ferry and staff were accommodating when we asked to change room.
