Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaA little out from other places so a taxi was needed. I like to walk from my accommodation normally but didn’t this time. The gym was very basic and the machinery difficult to work so I only used it once. Evening meals varied in food taste and preparation so improvements could see more people eating at the hotel.
Clean, comfortable. The pool area was well maintained with room for all to relax poolside or swim. The room was spacious with fridge and kettle for use. We enjoyed using the balcony in the evening or early mornings, The buffet breakfast offered a variety of food with good service. On Saturday there was live music with a musician singing and playing a guitar. He was terrific!

AustraliaThe price didnt reflect in the accomodation. I had to use the kettle in the bedroom as the powerpoint was broken in the living room. The air-conditioner stopped working after the first day in the living room. The family suite was one king bed and one queen bed. We paid for an extra bed. Families would prefer to have seperate beds for children. Especially 3 teenage boys. It was disappointing that on the web site it said it was for 5 people.
The property was lovely but away from everything and we needed to catch a taxi every time leaving the hotel. It was very expensive, but nice.

AustraliaBreakfast was great but the food you ordered from the dinning room was left wanting. The pasta i ordered was cold & tasteless. The caesar salad had no croutons or anchovies. Other family members that were at the Red Tulip also said the same thing. I ran out of toilet paper &had to start using tissues.

AustraliaI would have liked some more substantial food choices on the evening menu. On the financial side I was surprised that I couldn't bill my meals to my room without buying a room service/ meal package up front. I'm old school and don't like paying until I receive a service.
Breakfast was excellent. Good variety and food of a high standard.

IrelandIt's a little remote - not much in the area apart from walking distance to the Jimbaran Hub & a little further afield by car/bike to Jimbaran. The location wasn't great for us to explore Uluwatu, while Jimbaran Beach is accessible in 10 minutes car/bike or so, everywhere else like Dreamland Beach, or Bingin, or Pecatu, or Padang Padang was over 30 minutes or more away by car/bike, and some of the roads nearby were lethal (especially one towards the back of the hotel - I'm a seasoned motorcyclist, and this one gave me the heebie jeebies!) The hotel is a little dated (or our block to the left of the reception was), but great facilities nonetheless. The pool area has a few cracked paving slabs, and the water slide is a bit rickety. But overall the pool area has a lovely ambience.
This was our first stop on our Bali adventure, a week in the Royal Tulip to give us a base to explore Uluwatu. The hotel is quite nice, a little dated, but great facilities nonetheless. The hotel didn't seem too busy when we were there, so getting food service or a sunbed was no issue. Staff were always friendly and happy to accommodate. The kids had a great time with the kid's club staff member, and they made a few friends too.

SpainThe breakfast needs more attention. What I did not like at all, that the prices on the food and drink menu is totally different from what you will actually pay at the end. I don't like this way of pricing when taxes and service charge will be your end suprise. It's not a sweet finish of your meal.
The room is great, with all the comforts you need. Comfy beds, great amenities. The pool is nice too.

RussiaThe hotel is located on mountain far away from the city, so it’s super calm over there and a lot of greens. It’s clean and services are good. Breakfast was nice, but dinner unfortunately isn’t worth the price regarding quality and portions. would recommend for somebody who like calm hotels even trough the fasciitis aren’t new.

AustraliaThis may be different for everyone but for us with 2 young kids - location wise, we enjoyed staying in Kuta, which was much more lively. Nothing wrong with this hotel though. Also we found there was limited things to do just by stepping out of the hotel within a short walk - nonetheless the hotel does offer free shuttle service to the nearby key areas to counteract that.
The hotel has daily activities and free shuttle, which was an added bonus. Room was really really big and comfortable! Pool area is also really good with good shade areas during the day as well. Breakfast was outstanding. Also staff are really good and helpful. A special mention to YADI - who is the fitness related instructor - who even offered one on one yoga class during his free time, as we weren't able to make the activity time. He goes out of his way to help, so just ask for YADI at reception to maintain your fitness/health goals during your stay!

CanadaUnfortunately, Jimbaran Beach...was probably the worst beach we've ever visited(30 min walk from Resort). Maybe it was garbage season, but the beach and water had more garbage than your local dump. Swimming literally impossible, and the beach barely barely walkable. They say the area has the best seafood in Bali, but I'm not sure I would agree. Never, and I mean never get a cocktail on Jimbaran Beach. Stick to Bintang unless you want Bali Belly. Also, stick to deep-fried food or food from another resort. You can be like us and laugh and say we will be fine after reading reviews, but Bali Belly is no joke....three weeks later we are both still feeling repercussions of us thinking we could easily handle it(after numerous doctor visits to I might add). Anyway, the resort is great other than the occasional sewage smell as you visit the pool. Must use Grab to get to and from Resort.
The staff were quite nice. The pool was pretty cool and the breakfast was absolutely the best we've had. Definitely top 3 breakfasts in ourlifetime. Dinner at Resort is great, but a touch pricey. Beautiful room.

DenmarkBecause the internal road is long, and further down there is no busy city road, you pretty much need a scooter or other way of transportation to move around. There are plenty of small defects here and there. For example, ketle uses only 500 W, which makes water boiling an extremely long process. Water drains in sink and tub very slowly. Cleaning is not thorough enough. Floors don't seem to be cleaned with water at all. Or at least not often, enough. Even after cleaning, the floor in the room was still a bit dirty. On the floor in the fitness room lied a wasp for many days. Mirror all the time dirty. Around the swimming pool there was a really bad smell for days. Got much better after a couple of complaints. Pool full of algies on the surfaces. WiFi in the room was extremely bad at the start. Got better after complaints. Plenty of destroyed toys in the Kids Club. As we wanted to shorten our stay there, it took 4 days for the hotel to agree with a refund of unused days.
Staff is extremely nice. Like in all Bali, I would say. They seem to try their best to help and make your stay pleasant. Most speak English at the level to be able to communicate. Though, barely. Some speak well enough. Some definitely not. Hotel offers many services. Most in the room price. Quality varies, though. Nice breakfasts with plenty of options. Limited to vegans, but acceptable, as the kitchen tries to do something separately. Balcony. Plenty of plants and trees around.

AustraliaBeware of red fire ants near the pool areas and on your balcony as these little pricks will always try to sting you. The pool areas always had a foul smell and wasn’t very appealing.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the housekeeping done was always top notch, the breakfast buffet always had nice varieties to choose from and the staff were very courteous. The hotel also offered scooter rental at market prices.
