Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe location is really good. The air conditioner in the room we had, was a bit old and did not work that well. The staff is friendly and helpful. (Light) breakfast was included too.

United StatesI had issues with ants my first night there. The staff was incredibly responsive, giving me my own personal can of pest spray and changing my sheets. But I still encountered more bugs here than elsewhere in SE Asia. And there's no refrigerator.
Solid place to stay in the center of Ubud, but it's set back slightly from the road so you don't feel like you're in the thick of it. That said, my room faced the main street and I did hear some street noise. The balcony and pool were both lovely, and the location was great - I walked everywhere! They also connected me with a good driver for a half-day trip to the rice terraces and water temple.

United KingdomSmall things can make a difference - hooks to hang your towel, a larger shelf by the sink to hold your toiletries. But all in all it’s very nice.
Lovely tranquil spot, kind staff, sweet dog, comfy bed.

BulgariaThe room we were in was a bit amortised and could do with a bit more maintenance and upkeep. There was a bit of a smell from the bathroom - could be due to the rain, as we visited during the wet season.
The location is great, it's within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and the main attractions in central Ubud such as Ubud Palace and the market. The staff was also very kind and helpful. Notably, they agreed to refund me the full amount of one of the two rooms that I had booked but ended up not using, despite the fact that a refund wasn't an option via Booking.com.

IrelandNothing. It was perfect
Spent a great 6 days at satya House. It is in a perfect location in Ubud. It was quiet and we got great sleep. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was excellent value for money and even included breakfast. The pool was also a great feature to relax by. We rented bikes from here too. They cleaned the rooms upon request which was great and provided bottled water . Also they have a beautiful dog that hangs out by the pool which we loved. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great having a safety deposit box and a hairdryer too. I will book Satya house again if I visit Ubud!

ArgentinaThey didn't change the towels when cleaning the room, but I assume they would've if we asked for it. The whole place is a bit dated but it's not a deal-breaker.
Delicious breakfast, big room, comfy beds. The vibe is great, nice green area around the pool. Very nice staff. Good location to walk around, half way between the monkey forest and the palace.

NorwayNo complaints
We booked a week at Satya house after getting it recommended by someone we met during our stay in Bingin, and ended up enjoying it so much we extended the stay 4 more nights. The staff is super nice and helpful, and the location is absolutely dead center of Ubud. Close to the monkey forest and lots of shops and restaurants within 5-10 minutes by foot. We had a room upstairs overlooking the pool and it was very nice. Included breakfast was good with several options available. Minimal noise from the surrounding street and temple despite being very centrally located. Would highly recommend!

United StatesI love Satya House. The area is perfect so I could walk everywhere, it’s clean and pretty, and the family and staff are incredibly kind and sweet. I reserved three nights over Christmas, and came back as soon as they had rooms available again. I will be back.

MalaysiaEverything was great, but perhaps the room door could be fix and the lock could be modernized a bit for added convenience. 💚
I stayed 3 days in this house, and it’s been the best stay experience I’ve had in Bali so far. The Balinese ambiance was incredible, the room spacious, the house spotlessly clean and the breakfast is yumms. The staff were super friendly and helpful—Agung (if I’m not mistaken). The location is also very strategic for me. I’m worried this place might just become my second home.

AustraliaI asked for two rooms with a large double bed but one was delivered with two singles. The double bed rolled into the middle. The lighting is very dim but I had this problem in other Ubud properties too.
The location is perfect and the villas are quiet. The price is equal value to what you get. The staff are very polite and the owners reside out the back of the property. This property has a pool and nothing like a cool dip after a hot day out in Ubud (a must). My room had two powerpoints in very unusual places that made it hard for the kettle and power charges to reach. The kettle is included but the cord is short. It's what makes life interesting. The breakfast is included but the menu is of balinese interpretations (small, enough for me) but food is cheap in the neighbourhood and there are plenty of other options. The facilities are clean and acceptable. The property was perfect with a Zen feel and quiet for lazy afternoons after a big day and all for an excellent value for the cost of the room.

New ZealandMy room was right at the rear of the facility and next to a school. There was therefore noise from the children at school early in the morning.
The staff were friendly, and the entire place was very clean. The pool was a nice addition and very accessible for all guests. The location was hard to beat, and this made life very easy. Breakfast was included in the room costs also and was a nice enjoyable meal.

United KingdomThe only issue was there was no one working after 8pm so hard to book a taxi or ask questions to a staff member. I know it’s a small family run business, but we had a poorly child and needed medical help. I went out to look several times, ended up waiting till the morning, however the receptionist didn’t know how to call a doctor and spent another hour trying to call. Luckily the child was ok! But not great if he wasn’t.
The property was close to the shops and restaurants.

ThailandThe room next to us was composed of a group of guys. One of them was talking loudly on the phone at the middle of the night, saying fuck you and shut up all throughout the conversation. I pointed this out in the morning to one of the staff, and his reaction said he didn't hear the noise. I was surprised because the phone conversation went on for an hour, and it was happening at the courtyard of the property. Another night, the guys brought along guests that stayed until the wee hours of the morning until I had to knock and tell them to keep the noise down. But there was no reaction again from the staff when morning came. The staff seem to be tolerating rude behavior from their guests.
It's within the city center and accessible to the cultural shows and cozy restos and cafes. The property itself is cozy; the courtyard is well-maintained and you can just relax there reading.
