Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyUnfortunately because of the outline of the facilities it seems hard to fight the mold. It wasn‘t too bad, not strong smell but you could see the walls.
Absolute serene location, totally tucked away in nature, super quiet and quite nice facilities. Also a Yoga Shala is included! The staff were super friendly, from early check-in to walking me through the rain with the umbrella to my driver in the main street.

PolandWe booked a budget room. The room itself is fine, but the shower is very small and located right over the toilet.
The breakfast was excellent, and the place itself is welcoming. The managers are very nice.

AustraliaThe accommodation is situated in a peaceful spot, surrounded by lush tropical greenery, a few minutes walk (less by scooter) along a narrow path - not accessible by car - from the main east-west road in Ubud, JL Raya Ubud. So you get to be close to amenities when you want them, but just far enough away to be quiet and calm. Ketut the manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. He also cooks a delicious Nasi Goreng for breakfast if you ask (n.b. breakfast is not included). I was there a month, and he arranged for my laundry to be done and a stand-in driver when my regular one wasn't available. He will also sort a scooter out for you if you need one (I didn't). The room was spacious and comfortable, if basic and in need of some repairs from previous water damage in bathroom wall (no mold though), but with a really good air conditioner and a small balcony. The bed was extrememly comfortable. Hot water was always available in the in-bath shower (personally I would have preferred a straight shower). You can take as much drinking water as you need from a hot/cold/normal safe bottled water dispensing machine in the shared terrace sitting area. I found the wifi worked very reliably in all areas. My room was cleaned everyday by friendly staff, with clean towels every couple of days or so. There is a yoga shala below the shared terrace sitting area, offering daily 8am classes.

FranceWould have been nicer to have more of an area for hanging out and the option to have breakfast, but these are just small things. Mosquitos are crazy here but that’s not the fault of the property- bring some deet if you are prone to bites!!
This place feels like a hidden gem, really central location but a little tucked away so you feel relaxed from the hustle and bustle. It has a great yoga deck and absolutely beautiful surroundings. Rooms are basic but clean and very cute.

FranceSmall issues: tissue would need refills when finished; the cleaning of the rooms could be deeper; one of my shirts was lost at a laundry; the bathtub is practically not usable due to a shortage of hot water.
Perhaps the calmest and most peaceful place you may be able to stay at in Ubud. The staff is incredibly kind, the terrace lobby is wonderfully situated, at the crossroads of a warm sun, a pleasant breeze, the sounds of water and the surrounding vegetation.

United KingdomThere wasn’t much!
We only stayed for one night! It was a great location tucked away in the jungle. WiFi was not the best and you did not really have signal, but it is nice to disconnect for a little while! Staff were responsive on WhatsApp if we needed anything.

United Arab EmiratesThe room itself. We stayed in a budget double room, which desperately needs a thorough refurbishment due to mold stains and peeling paint.
The location is very central, yet quiet. The common terrace is great, surrounded by lush greenery. When in the guesthouse, we spent most of our time on the terrace. Very peaceful stay.

UruguayThe bathrooms have no ventilation, so the humidity after shower is terrible and it goes to the room, therefore the room smells terrible and so does the bathroom, even if they clean it every day and also if turning on the AC. Although the bathroom has a very small window, it is covered with plastic! (Instead of using mosquito net or so). Also, would be good to note in the description of the homestay that it is not reachable by car, so you have to walk 5min (including uphill in some sections), which can be tough with luggage, especially if traveling with grandma as was our case.
Nice view, feeling in the middle of the jungle. Close to the main street and yet super quiet. Gusman the receptionist was really nice.

AustriaThe Deluxe Room is big and comfy. The place is surrounded by nature, there is a big shared outdoor area and yoga classes are offered daily. All in all it’s a good place to stay in Ubud, as it’s near to the centre, but located in a quite neighborhood (only reachable by foot oder scooter).
