I stayed at the Sleepy Raccoon 🦝 a week in March and couldn’t have chosen a better place. The hostel is situated close enough to the city for easy access to food and sites but tucked away so as to remain quiet. Facilities are good and kept clean and the common areas give you many choices for how to study, relax, or commune with others.

It’s not in the center of the city but it’s only a 25min walk or a 5-10min drive depending on traffic.

The reception staff and owners are very very nice, willing to help and give recommendations at any point. Scooters for rent were in a great state. Room was comfy and clean. The kitchen facilities were also great and having free refills was incredible.

Friendly atmosphere and the owner is super nice guy. He helps you with everything, he even bought my flight ticket and helped me find the best one. He is great for advice and will drop you off on his bike if he isn't busy.

Sleepy Racoon Hostel is one of the best hostels I have stayed at, the staff were lovely and extremely helpful. I ended up extending my stay for about a week. Easy and cheap scooter hire and great communal spaces.

The place is really great! I would recommend to anyone. It’s about a 15-20 min grab ride from the train station and about a 5 min grab ride from the center of the city. The WiFi is really good. The aircon great. The dorm room is comfortable with curtains. The staff is lovely and will help you with anything you need. I really enjoyed my stay here

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming hostel, and I can't recommend it enough! The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, and the decor is beautifully done, making it feel like a home away from home. One of the highlights of my stay was the delightful cat who is always ready for some love and attention. Breakfast was a serene experience as I enjoyed my meal while watching the fish in the little pond – such a peaceful way to start the day! The sleeping areas are thoughtfully designed, ensuring a restful night's sleep, and the lobby is super inviting, perfect for relaxing or chatting with fellow travelers. The host is exceptionally welcoming and always ready to help with anything you might need, whether it's advice on local attractions or just a friendly conversation. Honestly, the only downside was that I didn't want to leave the hostel at all! I had a wonderful time here, recharging my energy for the rest of my travels. If you're looking for a cozy, beautifully decorated place with a welcoming vibe, this is the spot for you!

Well managed, safe and comfortable hostel. As the area is realy nice I liked to walk all the way to the center, just avoid the main streets and it's a joy.

The owner is super friendly and helpful. They really run this place with all of their heart and want everyone to feel welcomed and comfortable, which we did. There is a lot of space to hang out even outside the dorms and the atmosphere is just super nice.

Nothing to say but perfect, Muk is one of the nicest people in the world. The place is cozy, you can really feel like at home, we loved it there. Would recommend everyone to go there for their stay in Yogyakarta! Also big +1 for Aban, the cutest pumpkin cat 🐱

The bathroom in our family room had a really awful smell, we think from the drains, so we tried not to go in there or open the door more than we had to. This didn't seem to be an issue in the other shared bathrooms. The shower was also quite cold, and the beds were very hard. Unfortunately, the restaurant the owner suggested (House of Raminten) gave me a horrendous tummy bug that I ended up having to go to the hospital with.

The room was very large, and the air-conditioning worked really well. The owner was very friendly, as was the resident cat. The main common area was clean and tidy.

well, first i booked 2 nights and then extended for 5 nights more, so i stayed there 7 days in total, this place was recommended to me by a friend I met in KL , and now I'm recommending the hostel to everyone i meet. this place felt like home for me , they were very welcoming and helpful, they can help you to know everything about the city, and also helped me and provided really good information and tips for the trips to bromo and ijen , they gave really valuable information about doing the two trips on my own, and also they have on the wall photos of all the places and activities you can do in the city the bed is so comfortable with locker to keep your stuff in , they also have big kitchen and most of the essentials are available to use. this place is highly recommended, definitely i would go back again.

I booked for one night but ended up extending for almost 3 weeks. The staff is really kind and helpful, I felt like staying with my family. The hostel is also nice and has a spacious common area. Cannot forget to mention my best friend cat Abang whom I miss already :( Thank you for everything and see you next time 💕
