Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThe thing that bother me was they had a kettle on the table next to the bar fridge but there was only one socket so I had to boil water on the bedside table. No TV, which is fine if you're out for peace and quiet
Location by the beach was great ! The room was big (with two extra beds squeezed into another room but since i was travelling alone, it didn't matter. Place was quieter than Sanur and on hindsight, should have spent Nyepi here. A reason for travelling to Bali was to try and capture the milky way. It was raining most nights but on the last night that I was there, there was a two hour window and I managed to take my first picture of the milky way. Staff was super friendly and nice. Just a suggestion, Grab service is not readily available in Amed. We booked our transport to the airport through the hotel

Overall it was a great relaxing experience staying at Salt. It had everything we wanted. On the beach, snorkeling was fun, lots of fish very close to shore, nice pool very near our room, an airy friendly bar and restaurant serving many options. Close to town, easy to walk about to shops, bars and restaurants . The staff were very friendly and helpful as well as professional and efficient. We enjoy a couple of visits to the spa, the ladies were lovely and very good at their work. The staff organised us the hotel transport back to the airport. Parta the driver was super friendly and very chatty. He got us there safely and in good time and we enjoyed the long slow journey with him.

AustraliaThere wasn’t much I didn’t like about the property if anything and this is just me we like to walk the beach or beach path and you couldn’t really do that there.
The staff and locations was fabulous, we would definately go back beautiful view for breakfast and the food was great too. We had the apartment with sea view and was huge almost too big for 2 people but for a family absolutely perfect ❤️

AustraliaNo concerns
A charming small resort right on the beach, perfectly suited for my wife and me as we passed through. The décor is a bit dated, but that comes down to personal taste and doesn’t take away from the overall experience. Our room was beachfront, which was wonderful, though the sound of the waves kept me awake at night. This isn’t a complaint, just something to be aware of—you may want something to block the noise. Thankfully, the hotel provided earplugs in the vanity kit, which was a thoughtful touch. We’d consider staying here again.

AustraliaVery cute coastal hotel. Perfect if you want to relax and take some time away. Bedrooms are nice, clean and comfy; each have a terrace, great for an afternoon read or to enjoy happy hour cocktails. The staff is great, so nice, smiling and very accommodating. Pool is great, with plenty of sun bed to relax on. Restaurant serves delicious dishes and has an extensive selection, Indonesian, western and healthy options. The Spa is great, definitely recommend a Balinese massage, I had a couple of them, including a great one with the lovely Ayu.☺️ Will definitely go back there.

AustraliaWasn't impressed with the location as it was a bit difficult to walk into town. As the weather wasn't great there wasn't much to do (not the fault of the resort in any way).
Loved the room and the pool. The room was very large, clean and very tastefully decorated.

AustraliaStaff were not very attentive. The room information is written up to just ask for anything and they would organise but it was often hard to find the staff. Receptions was often unattended. There were a lot of staff but they seemed more focused on socialising together than serving guests. Also staff were at times smoking in the kitchen at night. Room cleaning could be improved. We had a dirty cloth left on the floor for three days before it was picked up by the cleaners.
Great location and good family room. Food was nice. Despite the what we didn’t like it we really did enjoy our stay. It is Amed after all and hotels are more regional experience than that you might get in the bigger more touristy places.

AustraliaNot the fault of the resort but the occasional road noise and dogs barking at night and early morning was mildly annoying but it wouldn't stop us from staying again. We had one of the back rooms which may have accentuated the noise.
The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms and gardens were clean and tidy. I couldn't fault the breakfast and dinners or the options available. It was all fresh, tasty and presented well. Happy hour by the pool was a favourite of ours.

AustraliaMy only issue would be that the bathroom could do with an update and the water pressure for shower was extremely low. Water jumped between hot or cold with little pressure so a bit of a challenge. For what you pay for the room rate you could find something similar for a cheaper price but the food and staff are what makes Salt a reason to go back.
The seaview room was amazing overlooking the ocean from bedroom and front verandah. Large daybed provided for lazing around watching the ocean. Huge room with gorgeous decor. Restaurant on-site provided the most amazing breakfasts, lunch and dinner and the food was exemplary.

NetherlandsBit noisy, staff was friendly but some better than others - some staff is very informal and a bit rough around the edges, not as hospitable. Bathrooms in the rooms are ok, water pressure is limited but what you’d expect from the infrastructure.
Location on beach front, on a quieter end of the town. Helpful arranging motorbikes and transportation etc. Decent restaurant, nice breakfast .

GermanyThe smell of the toilet like rotten eggs (I don't know if it is possible to improve it during rainy season), the pool water got a tiny little murky in the end -bit it rained heavily every day. Hotel is quite expensive compared to other places. Some food on the menus doesn't meet expectations t.ex. Hummus - admit it is absolutely not balinese but the portion was so tiny, too. More power outlets close the bed would make the room better.
Very comfy bed, spacious and clean room, good air con, friendly staff, decent breakfast with fresh fruit but one slice of bread is not that much. Pool and the ocean really close -choose what you like. They have lot of different breakfast options, even vegan ones. Good laundry service.

SwedenWe were not so fond of the town. If you don’t dive or fish there is not much to do. The beach has much garbage on it, however the hotel kept it clean just outside. So none of this is the fault of the hotel.
Cozy small hotel with friendly staff. It was clean too and the food was good. If I would ever come back to Amed I would pick this hotel again.

CanadaThere are two parts to the resort and they are not connected. The only way to get from my room in the smaller area to the restaurant or main part of the resort was to go out and walk along the beach. It was not far but the beach is absolutely full of fishing boats, so you have wind around them in order to get to the main part of the resort. The beach there is full of litter and boats, locals and their dogs. That is not bad but if you are expecting sandy beach to lie on, you are better off finding somewhere else or rent a scooter.
The choice of food for breakfast was nice. The room was clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff overall. The resort is on the beach but the beach is not very good at that location.
