Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere is nothing to dislike. Everything is wonderful. However due to the size of the pool area I think it’s best suited to being an adults only place.
This is a slice of old world Bali & old world charm. It’s a small & intimate hotel without gorgeous staff who go out of their way to help you. It’s one of the original hotels in Bali & it’s retained this feeling & character.

I felt I was in a Bsli tableau or painting. A temple. I was in awe of the effort to preserve and display Bali art and culture. It was very special. At the same time I felt comfortable.

United KingdomMy only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer!
A beautiful, small Balinese hotel with lovely little bungalows set in lush gardens. Having breakfast overlooking the beach was a highlight - and the staff were so kindly, friendly and hospitable, it felt like a real home-from-home.

United StatesKind of buggy- mosquitoes and ants.
The deluxe room was traditional yet modern. It had all the amenities, including a great outdoor shower, yet it felt like you were in a private, serene compound. Even with its own bale/pavilion. The staff kept the room very clean. The main pool, beach, and restaurant were great. I absolutely loved the gardens and landscaping. It was very close to a street with shopping so we didn’t need a car. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. I’m already trying to figure out a way to come back!

ItalyNot a thing.
I’m a retuning customer and the property stayed authentic throughout the years - all original tiles and artwork. I like the fact it created a Foundation for Balinese musicians and stayed on course with its mission.

The food was incredible, the rooms are beautiful and there is just so much detail around the hotel which makes it feel so special. The Staff are all incredible and truly make you feel like you at your second home, whilst remaining totally professional. The hotel is perfectly located on the beach, and only a short walk to shops, markets etc. The food was fabulous; they have some very talented Chef’s! This hotel is simply superb in every way and we can’t wait to visit again :-).

Hong KongAbsolutely stunning boutique property in Sanur. This has been a highlight of our trip. The rooms are absolutely spotless and so so so spacious, the staff are so helpful and warm, and the food is out of this world. The grounds are lovingly maintained and the private beachfront area is the best on the whole Sanur coast. The hotel never feels crowded, unlike the other major chain hotels down the strip. While it doesn’t have a portfolio of facilities, it was easy enough to hop on a bicycle and go to a nearby kids club or other restaurants and cafes. The pool, while small, was perfect for us for a quick dip. We traveled with our toddler and he just loved the space and grounds at Tandjung Sari. We would happily return in a heartbeat!

AustraliaThe pool is a little small and located right by the dining area and there are no lounges to sit on. Unfortunately the chairs on the beach are very exposed even those with umbrellas.
Beautiful accommodation with our own courtyard and gazebo. Loved the outdoor shower. Great restaurant with amazing breakfast. Lots of lovely little touches like sarongs for resort use. A very comfortable and relaxing stay thank you.

NetherlandsWhat a magically beautiful hotel in a ditto location. This is one of the most beautiful and special boutique hotels I have ever stayed in. Authentically Balinese; comfortable cottage (villa) in Balinese atmosphere, a beautiful garden, lovely pool, fantastic restaurant (excellent food and neat service) and with its own beach. Everything your heart desires can be found here. Sanur is a nice place; touristy but not so busy and I have the impression that mostly older people come here. The hotel has an entry on Wikipedia and a book was published on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. A small snippet of text from the Wikipedia page: "Tandjung Sari (meaning: Cape of Flowers) is a boutique hotel located in the Sanur district of Denpasar, Bali. The hotel is considered among the first resorts to be built in both Sanur and Bali, and also among the first boutique hotels to be established in South East Asia." Source: Wikipedia.
